A boy in Ralph’s class goes missing during a class field trip in this week’s episode of Scorpion. The thing is, the boy can only communicate through his tablet. Oh, did I mention that a couple of mercenaries from a group called S6 is planning to use smart bullets to take out a building? Just another typical day at the office for Team Scorpion.
The hour began with Toby talking to Mark Collins at the prison. It seems like the shrink is beyond desperate to find out who Happy’s mystery husband is. Collins gave Toby a riddle to solve and left the shrink to figure it out for himself. I swear, if Collins is a Batman villain, he could so be The Riddler.
Toby then finally figured out, towards the end of the episode, that Happy’s mystery husband is none other than Walter O’Brien. It turns out; Walter needed to stay in the country, but his visa was about to expire. Happy offered to marry him so he could get his green card. #GreatestFriendEver.
I enjoyed seeing Ralph interact with Daniel, the boy who later went missing. It’s good to see the young genius be friends with someone who, in a way, is just like him. He helped find Daniel when the latter went to the train station to find some peace and quiet as he is sensitive to noise and light. The team managed to locate the boy but had to rescue him from the grain silo that he accidentally fell into when one of the S6 mercenaries pushed past him.
I’ve never seen Sylvester make a miscalculation before, but there’s a first time for everything. I do applaud him, however, for jumping onto the two kegs to lower them toward the ground. Daniel and Walter were lifted out of the silo and now the team has to track down the bad guys.
The scene where Happy used the election promotion truck to stop the smart bullet confuses me. The mechanical prodigy said that the bullet could go around anything to reach its intended target. So why would a truck be able to block its path and save the building from going up in flames? Anyone want to weigh in?
Speaking of Happy, the woman was asking Paige all sorts of questions about being a parent and raising children. That and she was acting very odd at the chemist lab. I should have seen the signs before the mechanical prodigy revealed at the end that she’s pregnant. Logically, Toby has got to be the father because he’s the only one that she had gone all the way with. Yay, Quintis baby!
I also loved the touching video chat message from Daniel. The boy thanked the team for saving his life and said that he has always felt like an outsider, but Scorpion taught him that when outsiders work together, anything is possible. Well said, Daniel, well said.
It was also an improvement on Walter’s part to give his fellow team members positive feedback after Daniel’s inspiring message. Though we have to talk about his u-shaped hot dog experiment for a minute here. Has Walter gone a tad off the rails? Sure, the jingle is catchy and cute, but wouldn’t his time be better spent on things that matter other than making hot dogs easier to eat? Just saying.
As usual, the bad guys were caught and dealt with, and Team Scorpion saves the day once again. I still can’t believe that they would mix-up the tablets. I mean, yes, they look similar, but they could’ve at least checked (if time allows them to do so) that it’s the right one before taking it.
