10 Things You Didn’t Know about Sandrine Holt

It’s very likely that you’ve seen Sandrine Holt a time or two. She’d be hard to miss simply because she’s been front and center for many scenes and for the rest she’s been in the background more or less but still visible enough that she can come forward and be counted time and again. She’s done a pretty good amount of work in her time and has been around for longer than many that have made such lists so it’s easy to assume that she’s a veteran actor and someone that knows her way around. Her status as a lead doesn’t seem to go all that far since she seems to be a supporting character more often, but everyone’s got their strengths and this seems to be one of hers.

Here are a few other things you might not have known about her.

10. She started modeling when she was 13.

At one point she was a runway model in Paris, earning her way up the ranks as she grew used to the cameras and the attention. At 13 it might seem a little young to start modeling but in truth many kids are started out in the business much younger. You can imagine however that there are pretty strict ideas of what kind of modeling kids are allowed to do.

9. She started acting when she was 19.

By the time she got in front of the camera to start acting the jitters and nervousness that some people feel was pretty much out of her system. Sandrine even admits that she was so used to people staring at her by this point in her career that acting came fairly easy when thinking about all the attention she had on her.

8.  Her career started back in 1989.

She truly is one of the veterans now and no doubt has seen people come and go. The fact that she’s still here and still doing her thing is impressive since many stars since the late 80’s and into the 90’s kind of crashed and burned after a while due to stress or other matters that were either beyond their control or were seen as mistakes on their part. Sandrine thankfully has been plugging away steadily at her career.

7. She’s appeared in Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

She played reporter Terri Morales, a survivor of the terror that didn’t have any real survival skills or any business being alive as long as she did. Of course it helps when you find others that are skilled at surviving to help you out. That almost didn’t seem like enough until the small group she was with met Alice and they really began to feel a chance that they might survive the chaos. That was until the classic move when the group split up while looking for the daughter of the scientist that was leading them out of the city. Unfortunately Terri found the wrong little girl, and was in short order eaten alive by a group of undead children.

6. She had a part in Underworld: Awakening.

As Lida she was one of the many in charge of Selene’s daughter and grew increasingly worried about what was going to happen to the girl when her usefulness had worn out. Unfortunately when she went to confront her boss about it she was promptly silenced, permanently, as her boss and his subordinates revealed themselves to be Lycans, who were after the extinction of vampires anyway.

5. She had a recurring role on House of Cards.

There aren’t a lot of mothers in the world that would be able to control themselves if another woman told them that they would gladly let their child die inside of them, but some of those in this position would surely stand there and simmer rather than jump across the desk and attack the First Lady. The idea that Claire Underwood would dare to say such a thing to pregnant mother isn’t too surprising since she’s every bit as ruthless as her husband and just as able to placate people by giving them something that supposedly comes with no strings. Come on, with the Underwoods there are always strings.

4. She currently has a main role on The Crossing.

This is an odd show but one that looks quite compelling as well. Imagine five hundred people floating up on shore suddenly without any explanation as to why they’re there or how they got there save that they came from the future. It would give many people serious doubts about the veracity of their story, but some would likely begin to wonder just what they were running from, and when it was going to happen.

3. Her father is Chinese and her mother is French.

That’s an interesting combination to be certain, one can only imagine how they met. They did manage to produce very talented children though.

2. There’s not much known about her education after the secondary level.

Her biography doesn’t really go into it, but there’s a possibility she attended college, or acting classes, during the earliest part of her career.

1. Her filmography is pretty impressive.

Sandrine has done a fair amount in her time and it appears that she hasn’t taken much of a break in between projects. One can only hope that she’ll continue in her career for a while to come.

Her characters are pretty believable and enjoyable to be honest.
