Ryan Seacrest’s Accuser Double Down on Allegation

Ryan Seacrest’s accuser is deciding to double down and keep her chips on the table it would seem, metaphorically-speaking of course. The former E! stylist that was in charge of getting Seacrest ready during each onstage moment has alleged that Seacrest has sexually abused her on more than one occasion, getting far too close for her liking and putting his hands on her without consent. While these are troubling claims and would surely require Seacrest to be forced to stand down from his position and possibly prosecuted, the problem is that like all of these claims that have come to light since last year when the explosion was the Weinstein scandal occurred, these two are allegations made years before that seemingly came too late to do much good in a legal sense. It could ruin a person’s career no doubt if they proved to be true, but then there are other factors that tend to come into play that make it harder to side with the victim.

The one biggest factor comes in the form of the stylist demanding to settle out of court for a sum of millions that Seacrest refused to pay. She even stated that she would continue to ruin his career by accusing him if he didn’t pay. That’s a huge red flag for any case in which a person is accused of sexual misconduct. The idea of money being involved damages their credibility quite a bit, though obviously it could be used as a tactic by the defense of those that are being accused. Unfortunately for the women if their words are caught on tape or transcribed as they’re speaking they need to extremely careful about what they say so that they aren’t made to be the devious villain that’s attempting to discredit a man simply because he won’t give in to her demands.

That sounds so awful to say but since there have been instances in which there has been no proof and no real credibility to the victim it is something that needs to be examined. Many of those that are filing these claims aren’t asking for money, they’re asking for justice and for change. Those that are asking for monetary compensation could claim that they are seeking lost revenue from being fired due to their coming out, but considering that many of them have likely moved on to other employment since then it still puts them in a negative light when they ask for money, as this is a sure sign that someone is up to something they shouldn’t be. Even if that’s not the case and they are telling the truth the monetary aspect is something that ends up making people look bad since it implies that they are looking for a quick payday and nothing else.

Whether Seacrest is guilty or not is hard to tell since apparently there were no witnesses to the act and he is of course denying that it ever happened. Hollywood has proven to be a real snake pit lately, but unfortunately it’s not just the men that have fangs.
