‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Producers Launch Subscription-Video Service

There’s going to be a new contender coming soon as the producers of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be launching a subscription-video service that will feature a rather large amount of LGBTQ content and even more for people’s viewing pleasure. This service will feature a wide array of original content and will be ad-free, which most people should enjoy. The LGBTQ culture is coming out in a very big way as shows, movies, and other programs are being launched to celebrate and fully explore this colorful and very interesting culture.

RuPaul has been one of the most interesting individuals in the history of film and TV when it comes to being an actor and a known personality. The implication of the same producers picking up this service means that the LGBTQ community will have an even broader scope of shows and movies to pick from that will showcase their culture and provide uplifting and insightful programming that they and others can enjoy. It will undoubtedly be something that is long overdue and will prove to be very beneficial for all those involved.

The LGBTQ culture has been experiencing a serious uphill climb even in the most recent years when it comes to programming since, quite honestly, those in charge of the major TV networks and those in Hollywood seem to still have a very big issue in representing this culture to the fullest. There have been hints and glimmers throughout the past few decades that such a movement towards this type of programming could be coming, but up until now nothing has really stuck with the American populace or lasted for all that long. There have been some brights spots that have been able to exist in the mainstream but they are usually swallowed up by the desire of the majority to see something that they can relate with rather than something that is new in some ways challenging.

This new service however could help to open people’s eyes the LGBTQ community in a way that might have been done before but not on such a scale. The time for this kind of TV has been coming for a long time and the attempts have been well-planned but almost always stymied thanks to traditional norms and social mores that tend to denounce this kind of lifestyle and culture. The producers are actually counting on their ‘tribe’ of outsiders that feel the need to speak up and be heard to be their main subscribers. Who knows, maybe those who enjoy the mainstream will chime in as well and find it interesting enough to follow.

As Bob Dylan sang the times they are a-changin’, and it’s time for the rest of the world to stand up and change with them or get left behind. This new subscription could possibly be the change that TV and movies have been needing to show the world as it is and not as people would have it.
