Rocky III: Just In Case you Forgot How Awesome Clubber Lang Was

As a child I think I saw Rocky III over 100 times.  In fact I think it’s the only movie in my life I may have realistically reached the century mark with.  I think it’s because we just got a new VCR and I was obsessed with watching movies on tape.  When you’re a kid the allure of Rocky III is to watch Rocky himself.  It’s to see him defy the odds to wax the likes of Thunderlips (Hulk Hogan) and Clubber Lang (Mr. T).   And frankly that’s just wonderful.  I loved it as a kid and I love it today.

But I love it today for very different reasons.  One reason is that I just found out Sylvester Stallone used to drink 25 cups of coffee a day on set to get a 2.8% bodyfat for the film.   I mean that’s just a joke not to mention deadly.  But the reason I truly like the movie now is 100% because of Clubber Lang (and all the homoerotic humor in the film).  While I’ll still take Ivan Drago as my favorite Rocky villain, Clubber Lang far and away had the best personality.  It’s not even close.

“Predictions?  PAIN” is his best but now, as an adult I can appreciate how hilarious it was that he was hitting on Adrienne at Rocky’s statue unveiling.  I mean how incredible is that?  As such I felt it was imperative to share this clip of Clubber Lang’s best moments.  Enjoy.
