Re: Zero -Starting Life in Another World is an anime television series that began airing in 2016. It’s rated as TV 14 and it’s in the adventure and drama genre. Re: Zero was taken from a series of books that were written by Tappei Nagatsuki. It’s the story of Subaru Natsuki. He’s a hikikomori and he discovers that he has been transported into another world as he tries to travel home from a trip to the local convenience store. The overriding theme is about time travel, being thrown into an RPG-like world and about meeting a beautiful girl that has an influence over his fate.

2. The author links Subaru’s birthday with long lasting love or its opposite

When the author wrote the light novel there is a peaceful collection of themes that is indicated by the significance of Subaru’s birthday. The author says that it is April 1 and this means that his birth flower is the annual baby’s breath. This type of flower is a symbol of love that will last long. It can also represent a freedom from corruption, self-discipline, innocence and a host of good and noble virtues.

3. Satella will totally creep you out

Satella of the light novel is a witch of envy and she is scary. She is supposed to be a half-elf and has silver hair. The Witch of Envy and Satella are two distinct and separate personalities that developed when Emilia took in Witch Genes that were incompatible and this is the reason that nobody trusts her. There is an ongoing fight with the personalities and if you haven’t seen the anime yet, then consider this to be a spoiler.

4. Re:Zero Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu will exceed any expectations you have

The ideas that are presented in this anime are certainly nothing new to this genre, but they are presented in a way that makes them all seem more exciting and there is a much stronger pull. It’s easy to become addicted to the anime and since it started its run in 2016, it has become immensely popular.

5. You won’t want to miss an episode once you start

Re: Zero is made so well that the end of each episode leaves you thirsty to watch the next one. This is because the characters and the stories are intriguing, but that’s not all. Every episode ends in a real cliffhanger that leaves you dying to find out what is going to happen next.

6. The voice of Emilia may sound familiar to you.

If you’ve listened to the Japanese version then you might recognize Emilia’s voice. The Japanese voice actress who portrays the character is Takahashi Rie and she was also the voice of Megumin of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! She was also Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace’s Kobayashi Yoshio.

7. Emilia gets a bum rap

While she resembles the Witch of Envy, Emilia is a totally different person. She’s a very nice person and although she acts like a child at times and is innocent of the things of the world, she seeks to take care of others, although she’s not about to admit it to anyone else. She is a half-elf and in the physical body of an 18-year-old, but most viewers don’t realize that the is really 107 years old.

8. Puck is one of the most versatile characters in the anime

Few truly realize what an amazing character Puck is. He’s a spirit that contracted with Emilia and he has several amazing abilities at his disposal. He can change his size whenever he wants to, he can make himself invisible and he can take on a variety of different forms

9. Satella is not able to be killed

Here is a little known fun fact and spoiler from the light novel. Satella cannot be killed. She nearly destroyed the world after she absorbed the witch genes which were incompatible as she went on a killing rampage and took out six other Witches of Sin. A dragon, a Sword Saint and a sage all failed in their attempts to kill her, so here is an interesting little piece of the backstory.

10. Rem thinks she is inferior to her sister

Rem is one of the twin maids that work for Roswaal L. Mathers. She is the girl that falls helplessly in love with Subaru after he saves her and even if Subaru rejects her, she will still follow him. She’s one of his most loyal admirers. She feels a huge debt of respect and guilt when it comes to her sister and this is why she believes that she is inferior.
