10 Things You Didn’t Know about Rachel Keller

10 Things You Didn’t Know about Rachel Keller

Rachel Keller is an actress that’s gotten attention at this point but hasn’t gotten so much that she’s become the next breakout star. While she is in a couple of noted shows she’s also still building a career that’s taken her six years to develop at the moment. She hasn’t been idle in the least and to be honest she’s pretty good. But with less than a decade under her belt right now it seems apparent that she’s going to have to step it up just a bit in order to really get noticed for some worthy parts. As of now she’s doing pretty good by having been cast in the productions that are on her resume, but in the future we can only hope to see more of her as she continues to build on her name and find parts that she can take on without too much difficulty. The next generation of stars is active at this moment and Keller is among their number, one can only imagine just how things are going to go in the next ten years or so.

So here’s a few things that you might not have known about her.

10. She currently stars in Legion.

She plays the role of Sydney, a mutant that can trade minds with whomever she touches. It’s an odd power but one that can be dangerous as well, especially when you consider that she’s hooked up with David Haller, aka Legion. This mutant, who is the son of Charles Xavier, is one of the most dangerous that Marvel has produced in a long time. Of course Sydney tries to help David to sort out the sandbox that is his mind, but even she has trouble trying to control the schizophrenic capabilities that are a part of who Legion is.

9. Her career is still fairly new.

She’s only six years into her career at this point, which isn’t brand new but is definitely not quite veteran enough to be able to call herself a seasoned pro. As the years go by however she’ll have a chance to hone her craft and possibly take on even bigger roles if she desires. It’s just a matter of sticking with it and becoming the actor she wants to be.

8. She started acting before graduating from Carnegie Mellon University.

So to be honest she graduated in 2014, which means she was acting for a couple of years before she graduated. That’s not a bad idea actually since it gives her more experience and the chance to use her school as a sounding board to see what she’s doing right and what she can improve upon. It’s almost like an internship in a way but with her in the metaphorical driver’s seat rather than having to hope and pray that she would have a job at the end. Though still fairly new she does have some control over what roles she auditions for and which she doesn’t.

7. She was born in LA but grew up in Minnesota.

Rachel says that she definitely prefers having grown up where she could run barefoot through the woods rather than live in a concrete jungle. Some people love the city, others love being out of it and deep in the woods.

6. She wasn’t a fan of fried food growing up.

Her family had a garden that they picked from continuously as they grew their own food. Fried food didn’t hold much appeal for her growing up, but there’s nothing to say that she might not enjoy it now.

5. She doesn’t like accepting parts that don’t feel right for her.

It might be advisable to take whatever comes her way, but then again it’s usually not the best idea to just take anything and be dissatisfied with the role. Such a thing can easily translate into the act when it hits the screen.

4. She has a very small following on Instagram.

Normally a lot of actors have tens if not hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. Rachel’s following on Instagram is just over a thousand, which might mean that she’s not big on social media or just doesn’t check it that often.

3. She’s also starred in the TV adaptation of Fargo.

It’s easy to say ‘starred’ because in season two her character was killed off, meaning that had more time on her hands for other projects afterward. There was a slight gap in her career from 2015 to 2017. Perhaps she took time off or was auditioning for roles.

2. She admits to being a tough kid to live with when she was younger.

A lot of us were tough kids growing up in some way, but a lot of us also don’t remember it. Maybe she was a little more difficult than some.

1. Her parents were very supportive of her career choice.

Thankfully they didn’t try to advise her to do anything else, but were on board with her attempting to be an actress.

Let’s wait and see what she does as the future continues to roll out, it might be that she’ll be another breakout star eventually.
