In Queens Season 1, Episode 12 Eric was forced to face his past in order to save Nasty Girl Records. After a health scare Valeria decided to put her career on hold and start a family with Thomas. Lauren helps Jill find her love for music again. The opening scene in Queens Season 1, Episode 13 blesses us with another epic rap battle from the dynamic rap group. Naomi raps about evolving as a woman and a mother. Valeria boasts about her recent success and taking over the rap game from a haters. Jill reflects about learning how to cherish life and she gives Lauren a shoutout since she’s officially their little sister.
Are The “Queens” Officially Over?
Although the ladies decided to focus on their solo careers for awhile they start to contemplate the future of the group as they begin preparing to record together without Brianna. Eric gets a call with a good news, the ladies are going to be inducted into the Hip Hop Hall of Fame. They can’t help but feel the void of Bri’s absence. Naomi texts Bri about the good news and she agrees to perform with them at the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame ceremony. Valeria reveals that her and Thomas broke up after she realized that she really didn’t want kids and he did. Although Thomas was still determined to make their marriage work, Valeria didn’t want him to end up resenting her. So they decided to call it quits.
Proposal Gone Wrong
Eric tells Jojo about his plan to propose to Naomi. He wants to finally make their family whole. Jojo reminds Eric that Naomi will probably freak out but he’s no stranger to Naomi commitment phobia. Eric plans on popping the big question at the romantic dinner he has planned for the two of them tomorrow night. Jojo is super excited about the possibility of her parents getting married. Over dinner, Naomi notices that Eric is nervous and acting suspicious when he refuses give her his jacket to hang up. Just when Eric starts his proposal speech, Naomi gets a call from JoJo crying. Back at home, Naomi finds out that Camron is petitioning Jojo to establish paternity. Eric is disappointed to find out that there is a chance that Jojo may not be his daughter.
A New Calling?
Lauren is upset that only twenty people showed up to her show. A group of advocates confronts her and asks if she is serious about justice reform or if she’s faking the funk. Lauren agrees to join the group so that she won’t look like a pretender. At one of their meetings, Lauren learns about Ronnie Mills a death row inmate that’s facing the needle soon for a crime that he didn’t commit. They want Lauren to help them speak out about Ronnie’s case. Lauren starts to study Ronnie Mills case and she eventually goes to see him in prison. Ronnie and Lauren bond over anime. Lauren finds out that the guy he killed was in self-defense. Before going to jail for his murder Ronnie never had so much as a parking ticket. Lauren is inspired to take on his case, and when she’s confronted by reporters when she’s leaving the prison. Lauren calls all the celebrities that she knows and asks them to help her spread the word about Ronnie’s execution. #JusticeForRonnie because a trending hashtag on Twitter. After making a public plea for a meeting with the governor of Nevada, Lauren lands a meeting with the politician. However, when Lauren flies in to meet the governor he blows off their meeting and refuses reschedule. Feeling down, Lauren decides to give up despite Jill trying to convince her not too.
The Hip Hop Hall of Fame
The ladies find out that Bri tried to get on the plane but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. When she backs out of their performance they have to find to someone to replace her. They decide to have Lauren perform with them since she’s special to them and the one that brought them back out. At the award show Lady Z introduces them and thanks them for her helping her. They also get a video message from Trina a popular female rapper and she thanks them for paving the way. They are super excited when they also get a video message from Bri telling her she loves them. After Jill was able to convince Lauren to not give up in her fight for getting justice for Ronnie Mills. Lauren gives an inspiring speech and encourages the viewers and the audience to join her in the fight. She gives out the governor’s cellphone number for everyone to call.
Here Comes The Bride
Eric finally asks Naomi to marry him in front of all the girls and JoJo after the Hip Hop Hall of Fame ceremony. For a minute it seems as if she’s about to reject his proposal. But she says yes! The show fast forwards to a few months into the future. Eric and Naomi are tying the knot in a beautiful ceremony. Lauren got into USC after writing a good essay about how she was able to stop Ronnie’s execution. The ladies are going on a World Tour and Valeria gets a surprise text of a picture with all four of them from Bri.
