These are some ideas for marriage/proposal rings that I think can be cool together.
Also, the fact that there is a pre-evolution and an evolution or that the pokemon are from different universes makes it so much of a cooler concept for marriage.
For me, I see it as a double gift since you can start with 2 Pichus and evolve into a Raichu or Alolan Raichu as your relationship progresses.
