Earlier this week Patrick Stewart confirmed his retirement from the X-Men series and said that Logan would be his last stint as Professor Charles Xavier. As many people already know, Hugh Jackman said that he too would be in his last Wolverine role with Logan. However in Hollywood not only is anything possible but “never say never” always applies. As late as yesterday Stewart has been backtracking on this whole retirement thing. While Stewart may not come back to X-Men, could he wind up in a Deadpool movie?
During a sit down with MTV to promote Logan, the chat spends a moment or two on Deadpool. This, according to Screen Crush, is where the seed is planted for Stewart’s return: I would have said yes, but the discussion just now about Deadpool makes me think, well, maybe there is a proper justification for the revival of Charles Xavier.
While a full return to his X-Men character is still unlikely, a cameo in Deadpool could be a true possibility. And why not? Patrick Stewart has zero qualms poking fun at himself. Here’s the MTV interview below:
