Nine Things You Didn’t Know about Comedian Jeff Davis

If there ever was an era for Improv and stand up comedians to shine like the top of the Chrysler building,  it is now. For all those who have grown up with cable and have followed ‘Whose line is it anyway’, we have watched the show grow, and then shrink a bit , and then grow some more and eventually evolve to what is now one of the longest running comedy shows ever on television. The show has had some amazing comedic talent and one of the better looking funny men (Sorry Carey, kudos to your weight loss though!) that it has given us is, Jeff Davis. He may seem unassuming with his boyish good looks , and while we are lying on the floor clutching our sides guffawing at one of his cleverly articulated repartee’s, let us get to know him just a bit better.

Here are a few facts that you may not know about him:

  • Jeffrey Bryan Davis , born on the 6th of October 1973 in California, LA. Raised in southern California, Jeff was no stranger to the camera and lights. He started his career as a 4 year old starring in commercials. He was 11 years old when he was cast as Louis in the Broadway production of ‘The King and I’ with Yul Brynner. Davis went on a national tour with the production, and after performing 750 shows, he returned home to attend school. This was definitely the foundation work for his longest career spot in ‘Whose line is it anyway”.
  • He often gets mistaken for Jeff Davis, the creator of MTV TV hit series ‘Teen wolf and’ is relieved that he has a different middle name just to make things easily distinguishable.
  • Steve Martin and the other producers at NBC for the ‘Downer Channel’ were bowled over by Davis’s craft that they offered him a spot in the show in 2001. This was a highlight in Davis’s career as this gave him the opportunity to work with some stellar quality talent like Wanda Sykes, Lance Krall, Mary Lynn Rajskub .
  • From Sept to Nov, 2010, Davis was one of the announcers on television’s longest running game show, ‘The Price Is Right’, after Rich Fields left the show and until George Gray was chosen as the next permanent announcer. He was seen in Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show as one of the major actors as well as in Carey’s game show, Improv- a-ganza. He was seen most recently guest starring as Drew Carey’s sidekick on The Price Is Right. Davis is no stranger to improv shows and have been seen in more than a few of them.
  • He appeared in the critically acclaimed tele-film “Tuesdays with Morrie” which is adapted from the book of the same name. His role was that of an A capella singer.
  • He is well known for impersonating famous actors like, Christopher Walken, Keanu Reeves, Jeff Goldblum.
  • Some of the lesser known facts about him are that he is a vegetarian . Davis has been an avid tweeter and has posted on social media the challenges that are inflicted on him for his food choices. #thestruggleisrealfolks . He is also quite the golf enthusiast.
  • Along with being a versatile performing artiste. He can also hold a tune to say the very least, Davis was also a founding member of The Impromptones, a singing improv group, and performed to sold out crowds across the United States.
  • His net worth is $400,000.

We hope to see more of him in the coming years. Here’s hoping for more laughs, happiness, entertainment and just great quality comedy from Jeff Davis.
