Just in time for summer we’re being given a look at a show called Love Island that’s coming right out of the UK and features, you guessed it, a bunch of hard-bodied couples that will be pairing up on a show that’s all about finding love and earning money along the way somehow. Reality shows are certainly becoming predictable at this point since just looking at the title of one of them seems to indicate what’s going to come and how they’re going to be touted in front of the wide audience that seems to absolutely love them. If you watch them for sheer entertainment and nothing else they’re not that bad.
Just don’t take them at face value.
5. It’s a Netflix show.
Netflix UK has already secured seasons 1 and 2 of this show and the first season will be available coming up on May 1st for people to begin watching. With all the shows that Netflix has going for it right now it’s not hard to believe that this one might be talked about and then passed over, but it could be that it will feature as one of the up and coming programs of the coming summer. We’ll just have to wait and see.
4. The couples will be pairing off to win a cash prize.
According to the title and the premise the couples will be looking for love and to win a cash prize at the end of the show when the last couple is revealed. Whether or not they will stay together after the show, the winning couple, is yet to be seen but what is interesting is that the couples will be switching occasionally to see who really gets along with who. It’s almost like a swingers show for the new era.
3. They’ll be put up in Majorca.
A place near the beach in the UK just wouldn’t do after all. The cast will be headed to Spain to show what they’ve got and just how well they can sell a show that is basically like a singles retreat. Whether or not they’re popular enough will be dependent on how they present themselves to the fans and what kind of games they decide to play with each other when it comes to hooking up.
2. Supposedly it’s unscripted.
Too many shows have said this and haven’t proven that they’re able to stick to their word since unscripted is completely unpredictable and in many cases completely bogus when people are in front of a camera. If it does live up to its word then it should be one of the most visceral and emotional shows ever created in the history of reality TV. Otherwise it’s tooting a horn that has no play left in it.
1. Couples will be voted off according to their popularity.
Just like any other show that deals with people gaining popularity due to the fans this one will be booting people to the side whenever their approval rating dips too low. It’s hard to fathom just how this is going to be any different from the many other shows that have come along.
If it’s your thing then enjoy and ignore all criticisms.
