I am Allen Shaw, a Berlin-based Indian artist, illustrator, and storyteller. I normally post fun stuff here but I feel it’s important to share this series of work which in my humble capacity is an attempt to bring this sad story from a group of people who found themselves stranded in a poorly planned lockdown that was imposed in India. It left thousands of migrant workers on their own to deal with the loss of income, food shortages, and uncertainty about their future, the only choice was to take the long walk home. With no means of transportation, they traveled thousands of kilometers, mostly on foot, some of them perished on their way.
