Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters soon and the poster that have been coming out have been nothing short of awesome with each and every one of them. The qualities that Deadpool possesses that make him so enticing and undeniably appealing to so many is that he’s not like any other superhero. In fact you might not even go so far as to call him a superhero since he’s never been quite comfortable with that label. Instead he’s just a merc doing what he can to pass the time and get back at those that done wrong so long as he gets to do it in ultra-cool and strange style. Now that he’s done catching up with the guy that turned him into the scarred and horrifyingly fugly mess that he’s become it’s going to be fun to see how his story develops. You know he has a life before Cable comes along, and it’s bound to be interesting just because it’s Deadpool.
Oh yes, maximum effort.
There’s been this special animosity between Deadpool and Cable for a long time now in the comics. Sometimes they can stand each other, a lot of times they can’t, and sometimes they’re actively trying to kill each other. In the movie it’s kind of obvious that they’re going to be at each others throats right from the get. But this poster at least gives a sense that Deadpool isn’t too worried since, well, he doesn’t tend to worry about much of anything for too long.
The fun thing about Deadpool is that he’s not so much about the glory as he is about the fun of the act and getting in there to just mess things up occasionally. He wants to get paid for what he does obviously but he also wants to look good doing it and to make as little sense as possible sometimes while looking good. But hey, that’s a big part of his charm and a lot of fans have locked onto it since the comics, with a lot more coming around when the movie came out.
To say that he has a love/hate, hate/love relationship with the rest of the MCU is pretty fair. He’s not always the nicest guy but he usually has a reason for being kind of a pain in the backside when it comes to the other heroes. Colossus is probably one of the only real patient individuals that at least tries to talk Wade down. Captain America might be another one.
Sometimes Deadpool is all about stealing thunder just because he figures it looks cool and because possibly another schtick kind of rubs him the wrong way. But then again there are those moments when he just figures it looks cool and he can get away with it because hey, he’s Deadpool.
It almost seems like this would be Jaws’ last meal simply because Deadpool would just regenerate and might actually give the poor shark indigestion in the long run. After all Deadpool is a giant walking cancer, that can’t possibly be good for the digestive system.
Break out the chimichangas, Deadpool is a-comin’.
