We’ll always remember him from his role on Alias, but now Michael Vartan is heading back to TV after his stint on Hawthorne a few years back.
He’s joining the much-talked about Bates Motel as a new love interest for Vera Farmiga Momma Bates. He’s supposed to be a “charming divorcé” who catches Norma’s eye, and is one of three new regulars joining the show next season according to TVLine.
Norma Bates is also getting a best friend and an estranged brother. With all three new characters devoted to her, it stands to reason that the show thought perhaps she was a bit too lonely after the events of the first season. Norman apparently has enough love interests and friends to play with for the time being, but I suppose even more characters could be announced down the line.
