Meet The Cast of Good Witch Season 5

Since its premiere on February 28, 2015, The Good Witch has been keeping us entertained with its mix of 1-part comedy, 1-part fantasy-drama. Now in its fifth season, the show looks in no danger of running out of steam anytime soon. Good Witch Season 5 sees newlyweds Cassie and Sam face the challenges of raising their broods under one roof, while Nick and Grace face challenges of their own as they start to consider life after high school. Elsewhere, former Mayor of Middleton, Martha, is starting a new adventure as the host of a local TV chat show. Kylee Evans as Stephanie Borden

Kylee Evans takes on the role of Stephanie Borden, one of Cassie’s closest friends and the owner of the local bistro. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Evans focused on theatre, seeing early success in productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Evil Dead the Musical and Legally Blonde, her performance in which earned her a Broadway World nomination. In addition to her theatre work, Evans has become known as a talented voice artist, voicing numerous commercials and appearing in such animations as Wandering Wenda on CBC and The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That for PBS Kids.

Rhys Matthew Bond as Nick Radford

Taking the role of Sam’s son Nick Radford is 21-year-old actor, Rhys Matthew Bond. Bond’s first acting role was in the children’s horror series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting House, in which he played Jason. He subsequently went on to enjoy parts in the TV movie The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story (2014), and the TV Series, Ties That Bind (2015). As noted by IMDB, his performance as Cameron Olsen in the latter earned him a Young Artists Award for Best Performance in a TV Series. In addition to his TV work, Bond has also starred in numerous commercials for brands such as Comcast and Microsoft.

Catherine Bell as Cassie Nightingale

Reprising the character of Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale, owner of Bell, Book & Candle, proprietor of Grey House Bed and Breakfast, and, as of season 5, wife of Dr. Sam Radford, is Catherine Bell. The 50-year-old actress’s first role was in the 1990 sitcom, Sugar and Spice. Since then, she’s appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including JAG (1997-2005) and Army Wives (2007-2013). Bell’s first appearance as Cassie Nightingale was in the 2008 feature film, The Good Witch. She’s subsequently starred in each of its sequels (The Good Witch’s Garden (2009), The Good Witch’s Gift (2010), The Good Witch’s Family (2011), The Good Witch’s Charm (2012), The Good Witch’s Destiny (2013), and The Good Witch’s Wonder (2014)), while also acting as co-executive producer.

Bailee Madison as Grace Russell

Bailee Madison plays Grace Russell, Cassie’s teenage daughter. Prior to landing the role, Madison was best known for her appearances as May Belle Aarons in Bridge to Terabithia (2007), Isabelle in Brothers (2009), Maggie in Just Go with It (2011) and Hilary in Trophy Wife (2013). In addition to her success on screen, Madison has also developed a reputation as a talented voice actor thanks to her work on Breathe Bible.

Catherine Disher as Martha Tinsdale

Taking on the role of Martha Tinsdale, the former mayor of Middleton, is Catherine Disher, a Canadian actress best known for her work on the Canadian mini-series Snakes and Ladders (which earned her Gemini Award for Best Actress in 2005), and The Border (which earned her a 2nd Gemini award). She’s also in demand as a voice actor, having lent her talents to the character of Jean Grey in the X-Men animated TV series from 1992-1997, and to video games such as Resident Evil 3 and Sailor Moon.

James Denton as Dr. Sam Radford

James Denton stars as Dr. Sam Radford, the town’s doctor and as of season five, Cassie’s new husband. The 56-year-old actor came to prominence as Mike Delfino in Desperate Housewives and has subsequently gone on to appear in numerous TV and direct-to-video features such as Assumption (2006), Beautiful Dreamer (2006), Undead or Alive (2007) and Custody (2007). He’s also enjoyed a recurring role on Devious Maid as Peter Hudson. Outside of acting, Denton is a keen musician and has played guitar for the charity band, Band For TV, alongside other celebrities such as Greg Grunberg and Scott Grimes.

Sarah Power as Abigail Pershing

Playing Cassie’s cousin and new Mayor of Middleton, Abigail Pershing, is Sarah Power. The Canadian actress turned to acting at a young age, securing her first role in the TV miniseries, Random Passage, at just 16 years old. Since then, she’s enjoyed recurring roles in several productions, including Doctor Pawter Simms in Killjoys and Jennifer Windham in American Gothic.

Peter MacNeill as George O’Hanrahan

Peter MacNeill plays George O’Hanrahan, Cassie’s former father-in-law and the grandfather to Brandon and Lori. MacNeill’s long career in entertainment has won him numerous awards and distinctions, including 2 Gemini awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (the first in 2003 for The Eleventh Hour, and the second in 2008 for Victor). He’s also won a Genie Award for his supporting role in 1997’s The Hanging Garden.

Noah Cappe as Derek Sanders

Taking on the role of Chief of the Middleton Police Force, Derek Saunders, is Noah Cappe. Outside of The Good Witch franchise, Cappe is best known as a TV host, having appeared on such programs as Food Network’s Carnival Eats, and the W Network’s The Bachelorette Canada.

Dan Jeannotte as Brandon Russell

Reprising the character of Brandon Russell, Cassie’s step-son and the older brother of Lori and Grace, is Canadian actor Dan Jeannotte. The 37-year-old is best known as James Stewart in the CW drama Reign, and as the voice of Arno Dorian in the video game, Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Dale Whibley as Luke

Starring as Luke is Dale Whibley, a Canadian actor who started his professional career in commercials at the age of 5, before moving onto features with the role of Connor in Nickelodeon’s Life With Boys. Since then, he’s appeared in several Nickelodeon productions, including Make it Pop and Max and Shred, and has also enjoyed a recurring role in Degrassi: The Next Generation.
