Some fan really wanted to put some suspense in this dream fight. But who do you really think would take it, Deadpool or the Punisher? Chances are it would be a pretty vicious fight since both guys are confirmed killers and don’t seem to give a lot of thought into killing those that find themselves in their path. The Punisher is a former combat veteran that’s had years of training and knows his way around nearly every weapon that touches his fingers if it happens to be a gun or an explosive device. Deadpool’s experience is as a mercenary and of course his knowledge of weapons might be a little more expansive than Frank Castle’s but really he’s his own worst enemy sometimes.
So how would it go down?
Obviously someone would have to instigate a fight between these two since in any other world they simply wouldn’t interact unless it was by some random happenstance. So Deadpool is contracted to kill Frank’s wife and after doing so obviously earns the enmity of the man who would become the Punisher. This prompts Frank to kill Vanessa, Deadpool’s girl, and thus kicks off the war to come between the two men. The wanton destruction that goes on and has little if anything to do with their personal vendetta, aside from information-gathering, is just kind of a bonus for both men since it tends to mess up the plans and machinations of those that they would work against anyway.
But when it comes down to the knock-down, drag out fight between the two fighters it’s obviously Frank’s sheer aggression that will allow him to get the upper hand, for the interim. We can’t forget that Deadpool has that one little trump card that kind of swings the game in his favor, his healing factor. Shooting Wade in the head might slow him down and stop him for a short amount of time but so long as his healing factor is able to work then Frank might not stand much of a chance unless he camps out and shoots Deadpool again and again and again until he can find a way to either incapacitate the merc or simply lock him away and throw away the key.
Chances are boys and girls that Deadpool either gets up then and there and puts the Punisher down or the two will continue to spar back and forth until Frank decides to stop playing nice and finds a way to nuke Deadpool without causing too much collateral damage. This fight would be a lot of fun to call but kind of pointless since neither man would stop and the odds still favor Deadpool to finally end Frank if he really did kill Vanessa. Deadpool really doesn’t care about much except her and if he doesn’t have her then he has really no reason to stay on the straight and narrow, which means that his guns and swords will be out and ready to go to work on Frank the moment he shows himself.
Deadpool wins folks, but it would be a good fight.
