Man Gets Arrested For Assaulting a Stuffed Olaf: You Read That Right

Olaf

Someone could probably make this up, but why in the world would they? Well, deviant minds do tend to go there when you’re not looking, but this is just beyond the pale since as Kevin Burwick of MovieWeb and so many others have reported a man has actually been arrested for assaulting a stuffed Olaf doll. Yeah, you did in fact read that right, a grown man ‘assaulted’ a stuffed snowman doll. Apparently the man found his way into a local Target store, found the doll, and proceeded to dry hump the unfortunate Olaf before moving on to a stuffed unicorn not too long after. You’ve got to wonder just what was going through the guy’s head, or maybe we shouldn’t even go there. In all honesty it would seem that this couldn’t get any worse, but upon being released on $150 bail the individual’s father stated that he did have a history of performing crazy and stupid stunts. Seriously? He has a history of it? And he’s still allowed to walk around with impunity? There’s been a great number of reactions over the internet as you can imagine, including everything from outrage to anger to the funny and rather calm response by Josh Gad, who voiced the character and will be back in Frozen 2 as well.

There are plenty of people out there that love Frozen but this is the kind of thing that really makes a person scratch their head and wonder just how much some people actually ‘love’ the movie in ways that are anything but conducive to the warm and happy thoughts that we would generally think are harmless and appealing. Then there are some folks that seem to think that their love of something, or their hatred depending on how you view this act, is justified to the point that they can get away with this kind of thing in plain view of everyone that was, unfortunately, there to witness the entire thing. Thankfully the contaminated dolls were confiscated before anyone could buy them and were disposed of, though the cost of the damaged goods seems to have come out to less than $200. The 20-year old was witnessed by a few people in the store, which had to be a somewhat traumatic experience for some folks since it’s not every day that you get to see stuffed animals being violated by a legal adult acting like a teenager just hitting puberty. Why make fun of an individual like this? Well, he kind of brought it on himself to be honest, and at the risk of public shaming it would serve to teach a lesson to others that might follow and hopefully straighten the guy out, oh man that sounded wrong. Daniel Figueroa IV of the Tampa Bay Times has another viewpoint on this you might want to check out.

Anyway, backing off from that part of the issue the idea that a grown man would walk into a Target, or any store for that matter, and think this is okay seems to indicate that there might be something wrong with him in a very big way, meaning that he might have a few screws loose, or could just be a prankster that doesn’t realize that the jokes aren’t always as funny as he seems to think. It’d be easy to go completely off the rails and be funny and disgusting with this article but honestly the guy in question that already flew off the rails without looking first has kind of sucked up all the funny at the moment. Maybe it’s the fact that many people who might have kids that enjoy Frozen and can just think of what they would do to this individual would gladly chime in with all the imaginative ways that they’d like to see him punished, or maybe it’s just that there’s a definite layer of sad and depressing bs beneath all this that made the guy act out in the first place. Yeah, I don’t buy that either but it was worth mentioning.

Honestly this sounds as though it was just a prank by someone that thought he was being funny, or by someone that’s mentally disturbed enough to think that it would get him a bit of attention. Obviously it did the latter and as you can tell from his father’s reaction this isn’t a first. The issue then becomes whether or not the man’s family is willing to sit him down and get him the counseling he so desperately needs or if they’re going to come up with another way to keep him from repeating this kind of behavior. It might sound more serious than people are letting on, but quite honestly put yourself in the place of those that might have had kids in the store at the time this happened and then had to explain just what happened to Olaf. There might not have been anyone in the vicinity at the time that was young enough to not understand, but the idea is enough to rankle a lot of parents.
