I Create 3D Paintings Using Modeling Paste And Clay

About a year or so ago, I began looking for ways to bring more texture to my paintings. I started off with modeling paste, then realized I would never be able to create the defined shapes I wanted with that medium. So I started adding clay, gels and even wood burning and etching to my large wood panels.

The first series, Novo, consisted of four 24″ x 48″ wood panels utilizing these materials, and depicted the change in seasons. Since then, I have branched out to do 12″ x 12″ and mini 6″ panels with the hope of pulling viewers deeper into my work.
