Lonzo Ball Took a Hard Fall in UCLA Win Against Kent State

While there were plenty of highlights in the NCAA Tournament yesterday, my favorite has to involve Charles Barkley’s public distaste for UCLA star Lonzo Ball’s father LaVar Ball.  I’ve publicly expressed my distaste for the Lavar’s exploitation of his athlete sons and Charles Barkley has made it known he doesn’t approve of LaVar’s antics either.   Perhaps no more did Barkley show his disapproval of LaVar Ball than yesterday when he was wearing a Kent State Jersey before the UCLA game.   Perhaps Charles put the hex on UCLA because despite their victory, star player Lonzo Ball took a scary fall in the first half.

Ball grimaced in pain as Kent State players rushed to his aid, and after fighting through pain to shoot free throws, he limped to the locker room at halftime.  Ball returned in the second half and was officially diagnosed with a hip bruise. But it was clear the pain from the fall was bothering him, and he wasn’t his typical self as the Bruins struggled to put away Kent State before coming out on top. He finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and one sore hip in the Bruins’ victory. They now move on to the round of 32 to face Cincinnati on Sunday.  As you can see from the clip below this fall would have hurt anyone.

Last thing I want to see is Lonzo Ball get hurt or anyone for that matter but it looks like Charles Barkley at least got some of his wish of misfortune for UCLA.
