Law & Order: True Crime – The Menendez Murders Series Premiere Recap and Review

Law & Order: True Crime is a new series that premiered on September 26th. Capitalizing on the overall popularity of the Law & Order shows that have gone before it, this one has a slightly different take on things. Where the previous shows have been fictional stories involving various guest stars, this one involves a much more in-depth look at cases that have actually happened. Granted, all of the previous Law & Order shows have adapted their stories from crimes that have actually happened, but this one provides a much more in your face look at actual crimes that have occurred, as well as the aftermath that followed.

In this particular case, it involves the Menendez brothers, the individuals that killed their parents several years ago. Many people will remember how all of this played out in court system and how ultimately, many individuals arrived at the conclusion that these were over privileged individuals that got angry because they didn’t get their way. As far as most people are concerned, they decided to do something about it and that answer was to brutally murder their own parents. Of course, the brothers have an entirely different side of the story and that is what this show is all about.

Throughout the show, all angles of the crime are examined so that individuals watching the program can get an in-depth look at what everyone has to say. As opposed to exploring the story from one side or the other, individuals are provided with a much more comprehensive view of what people claim to have happened so they can draw their own conclusions.

In reality, the show may be called Law & Order: True Crime, but it is unlike other Law & Order shows that have been on in the past. It more closely resembles an episode of Dateline than anything else, but it promises to be interesting, especially if the initial premier was any indication. As one of the biggest crimes in relatively recent history, the murders that were conducted by the Menendez brothers was one of the most heinous crimes that many people have in their memory banks. Therefore, it only made sense to begin with this particular case. That fact alone leaves many individuals clamoring for more information regarding additional cases later on in the season.

Without a doubt, this is a show that has the potential to stick around for quite a long time. These types of shows have a tendency to be popular with most individuals and the fact that it is another showing within the Law & Order franchise only serves to further strengthen its resiliency. Traditionally, these shows have been enormously popular so it only stands to reason that many people who have been fans of other shows in the long-running history of the Law & Order franchise will continue to tune in for this one in the future.

Thanks to an outstanding series premiere, even individuals that don’t normally get excited about these types of shows can find themselves tuning in on a weekly basis. Besides, it might be nice to have something relatively different on television for a change, as opposed to the same old fare.
