Woman Gets A Rejection Email From A Landscaping Company That Assumed She’s Too Weak – Roasts Them In Her Response

Imagine polishing your job application only to get a disrespectful response saying you’re too weak for the position. Well, this is precisely what happened to a woman named Charlotte who applied for a job at an unnamed landscaping company.

Her brother who goes by the handle @dzzzny has shared the screenshots of the email his sister got from a company she applied for vs. the one she sent back on Twitter and they went viral immediately.

“Funnily enough, I probably have just as much experience bodybuilding as you do, which I am guessing is none,” the woman stated in her fire email referring to the rejection letter.

And while most people agree that ‘Muscle Mark’ from the company has clearly crossed the line of respect for the female applicant, skeptics are left scratching their heads over whether you really gotta be one hell of a bodybuilder to nail landscaping. So let’s dive deep into this whole situation and make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below!

Dan who goes by the handle @dzzzny has tweeted the screenshots of the rejection letter his sister received, and the response she emailed them back

Bored Panda reached out to Dan, @dzzzny on Twitter, who tweeted his sister’s response to the sexist rejection letter from a landscaping company. Dan told us that he started laughing when he saw the rejection letter. “Me and my sister sat reading it and we found it funny because we just thought surely that’s a joke, but then when we thought about it we found it annoying that it was actually a genuine response,” he recounted.

Dan continued: “We originally typed out a more formal response but then we thought to tweak it a bit because his response was so backwards, which was when ‘Muscle Mark’ was added.”

When asked what his sister is like, Dan said she’s “a very funny, independent and strong character, she’s always loved being outdoors and doing that type of work which is what made her apply for the role originally as she’s done this in the past when we were travelling together in Australia.”

“Even when we came back from Australia, she was a mechanic, so she’s always been involved in some form of manual work and has always been able to do it to a high standard, which I think is why the email is particularly funny. I’m pretty certain if he had given her the time of day she’d end up being one of his best workers.”

Dan believes that sexism is definitely a problem in the current job market, “and I think the email from Mark proves this, because I highly doubt this is the first time he’s turned a woman down from applying for his company.” Moreover, he said that “it’s been refreshing to see how many of the people saying that they disagree with Mark’s email have been men, or even men saying that they’ve got job opportunities available for Charlie even after reading the email (the other half of the men in the comments were agreeing with Mark which is hardly surprising also).”

Dan honestly hopes that “employers that have seen my tweet think about this and consider it before they reply to candidates that have applied to work for them, because I know my sister and she’s really thick-skinned so this didn’t get to her at all, but I know there are women that would have their confidence knocked by this type of response.”

“Mark has definitely missed out on an opportunity to work with someone like my sister, so I think other businesses also have the potential to miss out on opportunities to work with women more than capable of doing the job.”

Moreover, he concluded that “Realistically it’s 2021, there’s nothing women can’t do that men can and I think the mindset of men being strong and women being weak needs to fizzle out because I’ve been raised by woman and can guarantee it is not the case!”

Many people pointed out the blatant sexism which, sadly, is all too common in the job market
