It wouldn’t be a Last Week Tonight with John Oliver without his ritual President Trump bashing. While the show focused on ripping apart kidney dialysis centers, it’s not like Oliver didn’t have time to have his say into the firing of FBI Director James Comey. As all of you know the former FBI director was abruptly removed from his position in what appears (is) to be very sketchy timing. While the White House claims Comey was fired because of how he handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation, it’s become quite clear it’s because of his investigation into the potential collusion of Donald Trump and Russia.
In fact Donald Trump nearly admitted to Lester Holt that this was the reason he fired Comey. Late night shows and the press have had a field day with this timing, though of course nothing concrete has been done to look into the matter. That’s where John Oliver comes in. Oliver destroys the White House in this five minute rant and you have to wonder how Donald Trump is still in office right now.
