If it feels like James Corden’s carpool karaoke segment on his late show keeps spitting out viral video after viral video that’s because it’s 100% true. Ever since Adele graced us all with her incredible rapping skills on the popular late late show segment, people have been watching Carpool Karaoke in droves. So much so that CBS announced Thursday its plans to air a Carpool Karaoke primetime special, during which Corden will debut an all-new installment with Jennifer Lopez.
“I have loved every minute of hosting The Late Late Show. It’s been an incredible year,” said Corden in a statement via CBS. “I look forward to this hour on primetime to look at some of my favorite moments and share a couple of great new ones. I can’t wait!”
Just how successful is Carpool Karaoke? The videos are becoming so big that The Late Late Show’s Youtube channel now has more than 800 million total views and nearly 4 million subscribers. And just in case you’re wondering, the segment where Adele rapped has amassed almost 85 million views.
The special will air March 29 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
