I Sew Archaic Rattles And Paint Them

In a similar cultural context as the drums are the rattles. I sew them out of rawhide from deer, wild boar, elk or horse, which I have depilated by the action of ash lye. As handles, I use especially beautiful, rarely shaped or turned woods, which I find in the northern German forest.

I also carve some. The rattles are individually painted and decorated. This creates very personal working tools.

The little rattles are miniatures that you can always carry with you. They rattle well audible!
