When Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom called it quits, he was in the midst of a breakdown. The world did not know it at the time, but Lamar Odom’s life was changing rapidly. The life he thought he was living was almost over, and it was time for a new reality. The former NBA star met and married reality star Khloe Kardashian in 2009 – less than a month after their first date. Their wedding was highly televised for the family’s reality show, and everyone watched this couple throw down their wedding vows in front of their friends and family four weeks into their relationship.
People Knew Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Wouldn’t Last
When the couple announced they were getting married on national television a minute and a half after they met, the world knew the marriage would not work. However, many thought it might just work out and surprise everyone. You see, she’s the Kardashian that seems to have her head on straightest and best. She’s the funniest one. She’s the one who seems to have it all together. She’s the best one in the eyes of many, and we just wanted to see her succeed. Lamar Odom seemed quite taken with Khloe, and we thought this might be it for her.

The Inevitable
When Khloe filed for divorce in December 2013, the world was shocked but also not shocked. Those who thought the marriage would end thought it would end years before. The fact that they were married for four years shocked everyone, and even the naysayers thought it was a real marriage at that point. Sadly, the marriage ended, and the couple called it quits.
The truth, however, is that Khloe Kardashian lived her life in the spotlight. Everything she did was filmed for television. Her entire life was public knowledge. She spent every waking moment filming for the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality show, but she kept her private life under wraps, and fans had no idea what was going on in her marriage at that point. What fans knew was that she was suddenly filing for divorce from her husband of four years.
News of Odom’s Infidelities
Shockingly, the family did a lockdown job of keeping Khloe Kardashian’s Lamar Odom drama under wraps. When he was out with other women following the divorce filings, fans thought he was doing it because his marriage imploded. When reports began surfacing that he’d cheated on Khloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom did not comment. No one did. It would be years before it was finally revealed that he was not a faithful husband and that his marriage to Kardashian was filled with cheating and infidelity.

Lamar Odom’s Overdose
It was 2015 when news broke that Lamar Odom was found unresponsive at a brothel in Nevada. It was touch and go whether he would survive, and that’s when it was reported that in addition to being an unfaithful husband, he was a drug abuser, too. He was half-dead and overdosed on drugs, and his wife was there for him. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom were still legally married at that point. Their divorce was not finalized, and she had to be there as the person responsible for his medical decisions. She was there, and she did what she could for him.

Since his return to television on the Big Brother platform and following his comments about being willing to give her a second baby had she simply asked, Khloe had only nice things to say about her ex-husband. She’s not seen him in a long time, but she has nothing but happy thoughts to share. She’s glad to see he seems like he is in a good place. The last time she saw him, he was recovering from his overdose, and all that implies. Needless to say, he was not at his best. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are over, but she’s still happy to see her ex-husband doing well and taking care of himself. You can divorce a person and not want to be with them yet still want to see them succeed.
If nothing else, her response reminds us that at the end of the day, she’s a class act. She’s going through a lot in her own personal life at the moment, but she never allows that to slow her down or stop her. She’s got so much going for her, and everything in her life is temporary. She knows that she can still wish someone well even when they do not do her well. She’s a class act, and we hope she doesn’t lose that personality trait as she grows more famous.
