Hey pandas, what was the most expensive thing you ever lost or broke?

I’ve dropped a car’s transmission off a stand before cracking it

I was helping out at a house clearance of a VERY wealthy lady who had passed away.
I was carrying a small(ish) box, the outside was covered in silk but I could tell it was wood underneath but the whole thing was so light I thought the box was empty.
I dropped it into another box which had soft furnishings in it and heard the muffled tinkling sound of something ceramic like breaking.
I pulled the box back out and opened it. Inside was a oriental teapot… or more specifically, what used to be a teapot.
It turns out I had broken a 15th century relic of Chinese history, regarded by many as ‘priceless’. The insurance company had a price for it though. Just under £50,000! Needless to say I was asked not to touch anything else and sent home.

My psyche. If we assume that expensive means money and time is money, then it had cost me a lot of time to repair my psyche, which in turn means that it was the most expensive thing that I’ve ever broken. How, you might ask? Lots of self-inflicted mind-****s.

i “broke” laptop by installinga bunch of malware crap onetime but luckly my dad was able to fix it

I don’t know what it was worth money wise but as a small child I dropped and broke a really ancient music recording and broke it. It was irreplaceable and my mother never ceased to remind me for the rest of her life.

I hit a trashbin with my boss’ car. The cover had a crack and the glass fell out.
I called him almost crying and he just said:” At least a trashbin can’t sue us.”
He was pretty chill about it. And it happend in my first weeks of having my licence.

Not my story, but my brothers. When we were about 5, my brother was spinning in the living room with me and he smacked a glass giraffe and broke it’s head off. Most expensive thing in that house at the time

My enchanted netherite pickaxe in Minecraft :]
(I know it’s not that serious but… Minecraft is important to me)
