What song opened a new door to your soul and why?

Agnes Obel – Riverside
It’s just a beautiful song and speaks so softly and quietly to my soul.

Linkin Parks first album. Evanescence first album. Last Resort – Papa Roach. Those two albums and that one song helped save my life and helped me pull myself out of a nervous breakdown.

A song that changed my life, ‘Every Day I have the blues’ by B B King.
Before I heard it I had only listened to and been brought up on 80’s pop music. I was 9 years old. It was nothing to do with the lyrics, it was the sound! How could something be everything at once but nothing in particular? I was Jazz, I didn’t like Jazz, but it’s not Jazz, it’s Blue’s! But it can’t be Blues, it’s got a bit of Swing to it, you could dance to it! But you couldn’t really dance to it. And that Guitar! MIND BLOWN!
That was the day I discovered music, I spent years going down a rabbit hole crossing genres following the ever connecting web of musicians and songs, sounds and melodies.
