Hey Pandas, What Interaction Continues To Baffle You? (Closed)

About 50 years ago, I had a fairly long walk to and from school. I lived in Ohio then, and had to walk a busy street. On at least 3 occasions, a couple of guys, probably 10 years older than me, walked past and one always said, “Hello Andrew.” That’s my name. I asked him once how he knew my name, checked everything I was wearing or carrying, and nothing had my name on it. I didn’t know who he was and don’t to this day.

This has happened to me so many times that every now and then I get the feeling I’m living a “Truman world”, where everyone knows me, watches me and they won’t allow me to verify this suspicion.

Almost similar scenario, I was walking down the street (it was winter, and there was high windrows along the boulevard). A group of much older teens walked toward me. We had to scoot around each other, but a couple of them pushed me hard into the snowbank (which was mainly packed snow and ice blocks from the plows.) Never seen them before, but they seemed to have an unkind opinion. One of them even said to “move, f**k” and mentioned my name.

Throughout Junior High, every time I encountered someone who went to another school in the constituent area, I was always asked if I went to their school, and if I’m so and so. Never have. Apparently I had a doppelganger. Perhaps a few. Still gets me wondering to this day. I haven’t met anyone in my city who resembles me in the slightest. But this girl must have looked so much like me people were convinced I was lying I’m not this other girl.
