Sammi Sweetheart’s estimated worth as a person just went skyrocketing with some folks since she decided not to take part in Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Quite honestly the entire cast has the right to make their own decisions and not be judged for them, so it goes without saying that the bunch of them that did participate chose their path and did so knowing what was going to happen. But Sammi opted for the more mature route and stayed home, stating that she would miss her former roomies but she was deciding to focus on her life as a businesswoman and mother at this point. The husband of a cast member went on to state that he respects her decision but also respects that of his wife, stating that he was hoping that the reunion would be something along the lines of showing just how the cast had matured. Unfortunately as he admits, drama sells, and the cast was pressed into doing the one thing they did well back in the day, which was continually start drama with each other and everyone else around them.
It would seem that Sammi is just kind of tired of the drama and wants to focus on her life at this point, which is great since it seems to indicate that one of the cast finally grew up and realized that there was more to life than partying and having a good time without thinking about consequences. It’s always great to get away from your kids for a night or two and have some fun, perhaps remember what life was like before the need to be responsible came trucking in. But those that have finally grown up tend to remember that they have responsibilities and people that rely on them at that point in their lives, and that the party might not be entirely over, but there’s a limit to how long it can keep going. Sammi seems to have gotten that point and it’s nice to see.
On the other end of this the show did pay the cast to come back, but Sammi is doing well enough that she doesn’t seem to need it. The rest of the cast, whatever they’ve done with themselves to this point in their lives, either wanted or needed the paycheck and possibly just wanted to party like they did back in the day. It’s not the worst thing they could ever want, but it’s also a return to the insanity that was the show and an admission that they haven’t really matured yet despite the fact that they’re all either pushing 30 or are well past it by now. To each there own really, some of them might need the money while others are just there because it’s a good time. People are willing to watch and the network was willing to pay so it’s time to get down and be rowdy once again.
But for Sammi, it’s probably time to look forward and, on occasion, look back and smile at the antics of her friends.
