You Have to Hand it to Vanilla Ice for Having a Net Worth of $18 Million

Some people cringe when you mention that they were Vanilla Ice fans back in the day. But that cringe should really be turned into a look of surprise when you realize that he’s still worth about $18 million. It’s not a huge sum when you’re talking about celebrities really but it’s a lot more than you might think about when you consider that his reputation and his music tanked back in the 90’s, well over two decades ago. He tried making a comeback as V-Ice but that went absolutely nowhere, and he tried making his name big again through being in a couple of movies and on a reality show, but once again those were all non-starters. Vanilla Ice, or Rob Van Winkle, is better known nowadays for the Vanilla Ice Project, which shows off his ability to flip houses.

Who would have thought that the rappin’ white boy that blew us all away with Ice Ice Baby would be the kind of guy that would be able to walk into a rundown old home and fix it from the ground up? Life’s just full of surprises it seems since Ice has been running his show since 2010, working with various contractors to purchase and flip homes so as to keep his stock up and his name relevant. He might not be a big thing in the music industry anymore but he’s certainly found a way to keep himself afloat and in good shape. Flipping houses isn’t for everyone obviously, but if a person knows what they’re doing and can make some good money in the process then the effort is definitely worth it.

In fact it’s not too hard to say with all honesty that Ice is one of the more successful artists from the 90’s whose music career started to fail and sputter once the 2000’s came around. If any of you remember, or want to admit it, Ice Ice Baby was one of the biggest hit singles of the 90’s and elevated him to super stardom without much pause for effect. Of course when he kept going, proceeding to the next stop, he didn’t exactly look before he leaped since his career took a long jump over a short cliff. That was the 90’s for you though, a lot of bands and artists came in and went out with a resounding crash that was their careers hitting the jagged rocks of obscurity. Thankfully there was a little more in Ice’s tank however and it allowed him to coast for a bit before finally coming up with the Vanilla Ice Project, which has kept him going since.

Just looking at him you might think he’s one of the last guys that would ever be seen renovating a house but he seems to have a real knack for it, which is great since it’s still such a big thing around America to flip houses when the cost is right and the return is able to finance the search for the next house to flip. Will it ever stop? Yo, I don’t know, no really, there’s no way to tell if he’ll ever get bored and try something else, but smart money says no.
