The Lifetime Network has a new show. “Growing Up Supermodel” is a reality series that follows a group of young models who are the children of parents who enjoyed success in various aspects of the entertainment industry. The cast of the show all know what it is to grow up with celebrity parents and this has given them a definite leg-up in the business. The knowledge that they possess is a tremendous tool, but there is also a downside. They must live up to expectations that have been set by their famous moms and dads. Here is what the show is about and what you can expect.
What the show is about
It is about the children of famous parents who are pursuing careers in the modeling industry. We will watch the cast of the show seize the opportunities from doors that have been opened for them. They learn that although their folks may be assets for getting chances, more is expected from them because of it. Viewers will watch them struggle with the additional burdens and stresses that this places on them.
Parent perspectives
We’ll also be privy to how the famous parents cope with their children’s ups and downs in the business. They know first-hand what their kids are going through. They are there to offer advice and support, but it will be frustrating for them to watch. It’s much easier for parents to deal with their own success than the success of their offspring. The show will capture family dynamics as the groups deal with their experiences on a day to day basis.
Potentials for the show
The cast of the first season is going to include young models with celeb parents. We’re not yet certain who will make their first appearances, or in what order, but we do have a list of names that are in the cross hairs for the show. They include: Jake Moritt, who is the son of actress Krista Allen; Arissa Le Brock, daughter of actor Steven Seagal and actress/supermodel Kelly LeBrock; Atiana De La Hoya, daughter of boxer Oscar De La Hoya and model/actress Shanna Moakler; Janis Ostojic, son of JD Ostojic, a supermodel of international acclaim; Cairo Peele, daughter of supermodel Beverly Peele and Cambrie and Faith Schroder, daughters of actor Ricky Schroder and Andrea Bernard.
Others mentioned
We’ve also heard rumors of Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber; Paris Jackson (dad is the late Michael Jackson); Sofia Richie (Lionel Richie); Sistine Stallone (Sylvester Stallone); Kendall Jenner (Kris and Caitlyn Jenner), Christy Brinkley’s daughter Sailor and and the Hadid sisters (Yolanda and Mohamed Hadid).
Premiere date
The series is set to premiere on Lifetime August 15, 2017. It will be aired on the 10:00 PM EST time slot. Viewers will be taken behind the scenes and learn about the new hopeful models as they embark on their new careers. The show will follow them on their journey. It’s a cutthroat industry and we’ll have to watch to find out who will come out on top.
