Themed hotel rooms are pretty cool when you really look at it. Some of the greatest among them spare no expense in fashioning their rooms and grounds in the likeness of the movies they take after. Movie buffs are notorious for wanting to stay in rooms that are fashioned after their favorite films largely because the experience makes them feel as though they are staying in the actual locations that they prize so much in the movies. Most people would say that a room is a room is a room, but to those that enjoy the movies that much it becomes more of an experience as they can imagine that they’re becoming part of the movie in some sense. But then again, a lot of it has to do with the novelty of being able to say that you stayed in a hobbit home or perhaps a terrarium that was surrounded by the wide open ocean.
It doesn’t necessarily take a film buff to see just how awesome some of these rooms are.
Harry Potter rooms – London
Potterphiles would no doubt give up an important body part just to say they stayed in Hogwarts, or something at least approximate to it since the idea of sleeping where the great Harry Potter slept, or at least in a facsimile of it, would be enough for some fans to die happy right then and there. The films have depicted the dorms so often that some people could no doubt walk them in their sleep and describe the layout with unerring accuracy born of a true movie buff. Plus, the beds and the accommodations look absolutely perfect since the four-post beds are a big part of the film and something that a true fan would be looking for in any Potter-themed hotel.
The Hobbit rooms – Montana
It’s not just areas abroad that can make a guest feel at home inside a truly marvelous creation of modern engineering. The US offers some sites that are highly popular because of the authenticity they offer to the fans that care enough to be discerning. Living in a hobbit hole for even a night might seem to some people like a daunting prospect since most people wouldn’t think highly of having to bend over everywhere they go. But these homes look quite comfy and more to the point are almost exactly like those in The Hobbit movies. Obviously they’re a little more high-tech but you get the gist.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea – Fiji
Apparently this one isn’t even open yet but if you didn’t know any better you might assume that it’s not even based upon a specific movie. However if you’ve seen 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, shame on you if you haven’t yet, then you’d get the idea of this. The novelty of being able to look out into the wide open ocean and see the many wonders that are there to be observed is simply awesome. Of course you might have to worry about the occasional scuba diver trying to pass by.
There are a great many themed hotel rooms throughout the world that are simply amazing. These are just a few of the best.
