Is There Going to be a “Desperate Housewives” Revival?

The way television is today, a lot of people find themselves watching reruns of old shows that they consider tried and true favorites. One thing is certain, television has changed a great deal over the years and it’s harder to find something of substance than it used to be. In fact, most of the shows that are airing in today’s society involve some type of so-called reality television. Some people that simply prefer something dramatic and scripted don’t really enjoy these types of shows, so instead they turn to reruns. Sometimes, they end up dreaming that some of their past favorites could come back for a second time around.

Such is the case with a very popular show that went off the air a few years ago called Desperate Housewives. In fact, a number of fans were actually hoping that people might get together in order to create a reboot of the show. In a recent interview that was conducted with Teri Hatcher, one of the stars of the show, this question was posed to her and she had some very interesting things to say. However, it may not be what fans were hoping to hear.

In the interview, she said that she would absolutely love to do a reboot of the show because she had so much fun while it was airing. She said that she was very disappointed when the show went off the air and she has always wished that she could go back and do more. During the show, which ran for eight seasons, she played Susan Mayer. She also mentioned that as far as she knew, every other cast member involved with the show would be willing to come back for a reboot. However, she doesn’t think that it will ever happen because she doesn’t believe that the creators of the show will take the extra measures necessary in order to create a reboot.

Obviously, this is not what most people were hoping to hear, especially if that show happened to being on your list of favorites. Nevertheless, that seems to be the way that things stand for the current time. That doesn’t necessarily mean that a reboot will never happen. Everybody knows that people change their minds every few minutes in Hollywood. What seemed like a good idea yesterday is nothing but a scratched idea for today and the things that no one wanted anything to do with last week are the projects everyone is trying to become involved with now. If you look at it in that context, there might still be some hope that a reboot could one day become a reality.

For now, fans will have to be content to simply watch reruns of the show and fantasize about what might someday be if anybody decides to do a few more episodes at some point in the future. Hopefully, if it ever does become a reality, Hatcher will come back along with her fellow co-stars. For now, everyone seems to be involved in their own projects or merely taking it easy. In a few years, who knows where they might be? For the time being, people that love the show will have to enjoy watching it on DVD or on reruns they have programmed to their DVR system.
