Getting to Know the Interesting Family of Guy Fieri

In April 2006, a short guy with bleach blonde hair named Guy Fieri won the second season of “The Next Food Network Star”. After that, the unusual chef made his name in the culinary world hosting shows like “Guys’ Big Bite”, “Guy’s Grocery Games”, and “Diner’s Drive-Ins and Dives” winning fans who loved his cool Italian-American guy image as much as his recipes. His point of view is down home comfort food transformed with lots of spice and flavor.

Guy is Very Happily Married (Too Bad Ladies!)

Soon after Guy hit superstardom, rumors began spreading that this Food Network treasure was dumping his wife, having his spiky head turned by success. This was not true as Guy is as devoted as ever to his lovely wife Lori, whom he married in 1995. He was born Guy Ferry but shortly after his marriage, he decided to adopt his real family name, Fieri. The original name change of his grandfather shows how many immigrants either by choice or by immigration officials had their ethnic names “Americanized”.

His real name fits the iconic chef, who, except for the hair, reminds us of the pizza guy down the street. Lori has been the love of Guy’s life for over 25 years and they have two sons, Hunter born in 1996 and Ryder in 2005. Guy is very close to his sons who worry about the high-pressure schedule his dad has in order to fulfill his Food Network contracts, With his wife and sons looking out for him, it’s a safe bet that Guy is being well cared for as he provides a great income for his family. His sons look out for dad just like he does for them. That’s a family!

Lori is Totally Awesome

When we caught a glimpse of Lori Fieri playing check out clerk during an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games, it was evident that she was quite a catch for any chef. She is wholesomely pretty in a girl next store way and she is also quite an entertaining personality in her own right.

Fatherly Example

Guy’s own father was an amazing man. He helped young Guy build a pretzel truck so he could make and sell pretzels as a pre-teen. Guy’s family encouraged him to build a culinary career and now the rest is history. Guy has many male role models in his family as well as females who have been a power of example to him. He may be one of the most famous chefs on TV, but he never lets fame go to his head. He has spent enough time working hard in kitchens before he was famous so there’s no danger of him forgetting his humble roots.

The Family is the Focus

When not sampling gigantic burgers and burritos at diners around the country, Guy’s cooking style is family oriented. Rather than focus on haute cuisine, Guy favors recipes that are great for everyday family meals or laid back get together. One of his books “Guy Fieri Family Food” is dedicated to a man named Peter Price, described as a “great uncle, brother, and man”. Guy’s mother’s maiden name is Price and it is clear that Guy misses this dedicated family member from his mother’s side.
