5 Things You Don’t Know About General Hospital’s Billy Miller

Billy Miller might have spent years playing Jason on General Hospital, but it turns out that Steve Burton is the real Jason in our eyes. He’s back into the role he played for many years — the one he originated — and Miller is out, but he is never really out. He’s actually just spending his time doing something a bit different, which is playing the twin brother to Jason. He didn’t know he was a twin. His mind was cleared, he was brainwashed, and he has no memories of his life as Drew. And he didn’t know he had a relationship with Kim in the past, or that they shared a son, Oscar, who recently passed away from a horrible illness. It’s been a very rough few years for Billy Miller’s character, but the actor is so darn good at it. We wanted to share five things you simply might not know about him.

He’s From Texas

You know, now that we see that in writing, we get it. He does come across as such a gentleman, and there is one thing that the south (and Texas for those of you who don’t believe it’s part of the official south) breeds, and that’s a southern gentleman. He knows how to be chivalrous without being condescending. He knows how to speak to anyone, and he shows respect to everyone all the time. He’s a real class act. He is a Texan, and we can tell. He spent much of his life living in Grand Prairie, and he also went to the University of Texas.

He Studies

It looks like he is a man who studies hard and takes his role seriously no matter what he is doing. He spent some time on Young and the Restless playing the role of Billy Abbott, and he spent months watching the character on YouTube so that he could play the role as well as possible. He studied his history, his personality, the things that made him tick, and he got to know the character from start to finish before he even got the role. And, we think that might be why he was so good at it when he did get the role.

He Was Scared Leaving that Role

He knew that there was a time when his role as Billy Abbott was coming to an end, and he was ready to move on. That was a terrifying moment for him, and it’s one that he was not sure he could handle. It was an established character who was not going anywhere anytime soon. He was not in the middle of being afraid he might not have a job, and there was no talk of firing him or anything like that. He simply knew his time with this character was over and he’d done what he could with it, and he was terrified to walk away. He had his doubts, but he knew in the end this is precisely what he needed to do to move on.

He’s Got Some Love for his CoStars

We love that he loves the people he works with so much. He considers them great friends, and they even spend some time together outside of work. But, there was a time when he first took on the role of Jason that he was a little too close to one co-star — allegedly. He and Kelly Monaco, who plays Sam, were once spotted on a beach playing in the water, and the entire press nation took it to heart that they were having an illicit affair. They were not, but that was the rumor for a while. They set it straight and maintain they were never in a relationship.

He Knows Comparisons Will Never Change

He took over a role on General Hospital that was a big one played by an actor who was always something special, and he knew he would spend his life being compared to Steve Burton. It might have bothered him a bit at first, but he’s accustomed to it at this point. He knows his predecessor was a beautiful actor and a wonderful person, and there are worse people to be compared to in his personal opinion.
