General Hospital fans watched as Valentin begged Nina to change her mind about things last week, and she’s not going to do it. He’s been in a place lately, and she’s not listening to him. He’s been in a situation that he cannot control, and he cannot get her to realize that her actions are only going to make their lives that much worse. You see, he’s been asked by Peter to get rid of Anna. And he cannot do it. He will not do it — we firmly believe that as bad as he can be, he will not get rid of the woman he’s not sure he really cares for or not. He’s not sure if he has feelings for Anna or her evil twin, but he’s still not certain — and that’s what will save her.
And then there is Nina over there making life decisions without talking to her husband first. She’s done with the way things are going on in her life, and she would like to make some changes. Except that’s the last thing he wants her to do. Fortunately for Nina, she’s done listening to her husband. All he’s done over the course of their marriage is tell her that he will do one thing while he’s off doing another. It’s clear to her their marriage will never be one of love and commitment but more one of convenience. She knew that going in, but we think she thought she might change his mind about that over time.
And now she’s doing what she wants to do, which is only complicating things for Valentin. He cannot tell her why her decisions are not coming at the best time for him, but he also can’t tell her that there is nothing she can do to stop him from what he will do. He wants to be honest with her — we think he does like her a bit. But he can’t, and this will make the ultimate decision for him. He won’t change things, but that’s not really his situation at the moment. And now it’s time.
