General Hospital fans know that sometimes you have to watch things you don’t love. There is drama. There is love. There is hatred. There are mistakes and misconceptions, and there is cheating and problems, and people don’t communicate. If they did, they would avoid like 700 percent of the problems they face on a regular basis. But, that would be a bit boring, and no one would like that. In fact, sometimes things are boring anyone. Not just things, but people. And there are some characters we feel need to go for the rest of 2019. There are some characters who have fallen victim to some writing issues. We don’t blame the characters or the actors. They are fabulous. We blame the writers. We think it’s time the show either writes them off and thinks about how they can bring them back to the way they should be, or they need to get their writing in gear right now and fix these characters they’ve broken.
Ava
We love her. We love the actress who plays her. We love her game, her power, and her lack of care or concern for every single person in the world. However, we think she’s become a bit paranoid, whiny, and frustrating in the past few months. She’s been through a lot, and she’s seemingly meek and unsure of herself, and we don’t like it. This is not a character or an actress who does well with the meek game, and we are done with this. She needs to be back in her role of powerful, unforgiving, dangerous, and selfish. It’s what works for her. She’s not someone we like to see like this, and she’s not going to have much going on in her life, and she’s not who like to see her. She needs to tell everyone behind the scenes that they need to get it together and stop with their bad decisions.
Maxie
She’s not been the same since Nathan died. They’re trying to make her character be something she is not, and we are not fans of that. She’s lost something in the writing they’ve been issuing her way, and we don’t love that. She is an actress with a powerful voice and presence, and they aren’t allowing her to us that with what they are writing for her. She seems desperate and unsure, and aren’t sure what they are trying to accomplish right now. She has no real purpose, and that is never who she has ben in the past. We love her, but we do not love what the scripts are doing to her. We find ourselves confused, let down, and sad that the show seems to be wasting what is extraordinary talent. We want them to find a way to either make this right, write her off for a while, and then bring her back to the woman we love, admire, and almost fear. This one is not that girl, and we cannot believe writers allowed this to happen to Maxie.
Franco
Listen, we like him. We do. But we are not sure that we are big fans of what is happening to him in this moment. This whole thing they’ve been doing with him since they brought Jason back and created Drew and this whole past thing is not good for Franco. He seems to have become this man we don’t like or appreciate in any manner of speaking. He is a man who seems to have some trouble with himself, and we don’t entirely get it. He’s not who we want to see in this role doing these things. We want to see him be a happy man. We want to see him be the person who is the man he once was. We want to see him complement Liz rather than take away from who she is and what she has to bring to the table. He has not been that person in a long while, and we just want to see him make positive changes and make the world what he once did, which was interesting. He’s just a little boring, and we know that he could be so much more than that.
