Yeah that was worth watching. It’s a throwback to Stranger Things season one and the show isn’t even that old yet. That’s pretty cool. I must say though that Eleven has put on a little weight since the first season. In any case this kind of parody is pretty fun to watch since the roles are flipped and the parents are now played by kids and the kids are played adults. It kind of gives a different feel to the entire thing, and when they start whistling the them to E.T. it makes for a perfect parody of the show.
Stranger Things is a show that a lot of people didn’t understand from the get go but still came to love after getting part of the way through the first season. Having binge-watched the first and second season now I can say that’s been an absolute thrill ride the entire way through and it’s going to be hard to wait for a season three to come out. You can bet however that the parodies will keep rolling in and that the theories will begin in earnest any time now. Because to be quite honest, spoiler alert, the second season ended on a high note that the first season had for just a fleeting second.
If you remember in the first season the last episode was about to end peacefully and without much trouble when Will was washing up. However when he vomited up what he thought was a slug into the sink the Upside Down suddenly came to life around him, surrounding Will in the dreary, nightmarish copy of his own world. What we found out about that slug however is that it was anything but a minor parasite.
The manner in which the second season unfolded was just great. Not only does it allow the characters to develop a bit more but it also gave us a slightly deeper look into the Upside Down and what might really reside there. The story also took a twist when the dark creature that was intent upon crossing through the barrier took control of Will and used him as a spy to figure out just how to best attack those that were intent upon closing the gate. Obviously it didn’t figure on Eleven however.
She’s been the saving grace since the first season and has proven to be every bit as powerful as the thing behind the gate, though the price her power takes seems a lot heavier than she’s able to give at all times. The second season of Stranger Things left a lot of questions to be answered as the show continues eventually, like what happened to Eleven’s friend when she left, what did the doctor mean when he said that there is something wrong with Eleven, or rather, Jane? We’ve got to remember now that Eleven does have a name finally, and as we saw it’s now Jane Hopper. I mean why not, right?
I wonder if they’re going to try to parody the ending of season 1 or 2? That would be classic.
