Fringe alum Anna Torv is heading back to the FBI. However, instead of tracking down parallel universe doppelgangers and sci-fi creatures, she’ll be going after real-life criminals in David Fincher’s upcoming Netflix drama Mindhunter, which is based on the 1996 nonfiction book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit.
The book Mind Hunter, which was written by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, recounts Douglas’ work at the FBI, as he hunted down some of the most notorious serial killers and rapists. David Fincher will direct the Mindhunter premiere and serve as an executive producer on the series along with Charlize Theron.
According to TVLine, which first reported Torv’s casting news, little is known about her role in Mindhunter other than the fact that she’ll be playing a psychologist. She joins Jonathan Groff (Looking, Glee), who has been cast in a top secret role in the Netflix drama.
In addition to her starring role as Olivia Dunham during all five seasons of Fringe, Torv’s TV credits include Young Lions, The Secret Life of Us, and The Pacific.
