There’s just something about a stylish outfit that makes a character in a show, and some of these ladies are 2018’s more eye-catching characters that can simply command attention when they’re in the room. Not all of them are currently on TV at the moment but every one of them has graced the screen in a way that leaves a fond memory and a definite sense of style that people are hard-put to deny. When you can walk onscreen and suddenly be the object of attention for everyone there then you know there’s something very wrong, or very right.
When it comes to fashion on TV you tend to want to stand out just enough in a good way.
5. Daenerys Targaryen-Game of Thrones
For someone who’s appearance was more that of a scared young girl at the beginning of the series she’s come a long way to stepping into a role that was seemingly meant for her. Daenerys is the Mother of Dragons, the Breaker of Chains, and so on and so forth, but she’s also quite the stylish woman when it comes to appearing to her people or to those that seek out her help. Even when she appeared with her entourage in front of Cersei she was absolutely stunning.
4. Hayley Dunphy-Modern Family
Hayley is probably the most fashion-conscious person in her immediate family, but in the extended family perhaps only Gloria, and possibly Cam, could match her for style. She’s the prissy one, the less than intelligent sister that displays spurts of intelligence at times, and the one person in the Dunphy household that the rest of them usually know better than to depend on for much of anything. But she’s always in style.
3. Jessica Jones-Jessica Jones
This might seem like an odd choice but really Jessica has the kind of style that helps her general attitude to be broadcast to those around her. She doesn’t take anything off of anyone and shows it in how she deals with people. The very essence of bad mood seems to hang around her like a cloud no matter where she goes or what she does, and her use of darker colors and comfortable clothing seems to echo that.
2. Dolores Abernathy-Westworld
This could seem like another odd choice but really Dolores is more a part of the world she’s in than a lot of people. She might be the rough, kind of homespun-wearing farm girl, but the style suits her so well that it’d be hard seeing her as anything else. Now that she and so many of the others have ‘woken’ her style is more that of a vigilante on the run towards something she can’t yet define. And this look is even better.
1. Claire Underwood-House of Cards
As the First Lady and now the President, Claire Underwood has to project an air of confidence, of self-worth, and maintain an image of both strength and poise that will allow the American people to realize that she is in charge. The style that she wears so easily is more than just nice clothing and a fashionably sensible ensemble. It’s a suit of armor that she needs for what’s likely to come.
Strong styles for strong women make for very memorable characters.
