You’d probably know her best for her hit single How Do I Live, which was featured on the action-packed film Con Air years ago, but Trisha Yearwood has lived a rather interesting and fulfilling life that’s seen her do a great many things, one of those happening to be her marriage to country star Garth Brooks. She’s been up and down in the country music scene and has done a lot more than people realize but has almost always been remembered for her music and the fact that she has one of the most recognizable voices in the industry.
Here’s a few more things you might not have known about her.
5. She’s been listening to country musicians from a very young age.
Trisha grew up listening to the likes of Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. There was no other course for her despite the fact that she didn’t really get started in music until later on in life. She still went on to sing in almost every choir she could, crafting her voice to what it is today. Some of the greatest artists seem to start from such a young age that you can’t help but be impressed.
4. As a kid she had an interest in becoming an accountant.
During high school Trisha was a straight A student and had a lot of interest in accounting. Imagine what might have happened if she’d allowed that interest to take hold and take her down a completely different path. She might never have come to understand just what her voice could do and how much joy it would bring to others. That would have been shame.
3. She enlisted in the Air Force after high school.
She’s full of surprises it would seem. Trisha did a four-year stint with the Air Force before moving to Nashville. It’s possible that her time in the Air Force gave her the discipline she needed to move ahead in life. After all to become a talented musician takes time and a lot of hard work, which is something Trisha has done for a lot of her life it seems.
2. She was an agent for musicians before she was a singer.
This didn’t pan out as well as she thought it would and before taking off with a music career she went off to college to learn a bit more. What she learned though was that she wasn’t a big fan of big campuses such as the University of Georgia. Some people just don’t thrive in big places and need something else to really get them going.
1. She sang background vocals for artists before her career took off.
She was a backup singer before she was a star, which is how at least some people go about it. She was singing backup for Garth Brooks when they became friends. Garth told her that if his career took off that he would help her out, and true to his word he did just as he said.
Trisha Yearwood is one of those stars you remember fondly when she crosses your mind.
