Kevin Feige is the guy you look to, if you’re a Marvel fan, when one of their movies does well or absolutely tanks. As the producer or executive producer of the many of the films and the head of Marvel Studios he’s the guy that has a lot of pressure placed squarely on his shoulders. Of course now that a lot of the films have been deemed as a triumph it’s hard to say that he’s been falling down on the job since really, he hasn’t. It’s not just him obviously, but he’s the guy that’s got to oversee a lot of it and the guy who’s job is on the line if people aren’t doing what they need to be.
So far he’s done awesome, wouldn’t you say?
5. His grandfather was a TV producer.
You might be able to say it runs in the family and possibly skips a generation since Feige’s grandfather produced soap operas back in his day. Feige of course is more of a comic book nut as he does know the Marvel universe well enough to stick to the scripts laid down by the comics just enough to keep people happy. Obviously some of the scripts in the MCU have had to veer away from the comics but thanks to modern times that was to be expected.
4. By 2000 Marvel had hired him on as a producer.
He’s been working as hard as he can to get ahead and it’s paid off in a big way as he’s the man that a lot of people look to. In the beginning however he wasn’t much, it was hard for him to even get accepted into the building no matter that he had all the intensity and the desire that was needed to really get things up and moving. That can be seen as the Marvel Universe has never been this big at this point and it’s only going to continue to grow.
3. He’s been working with Marvel since 1998.
He dates back to the Blade era so you know he’s seen a few things come and go where it concerns the Marvel universe. He’s seen enough flops that came and went and has no doubt been diligently attempting to help correct those mistakes in an effort to put Marvel back on top, where it is right now thanks to the hard work of so many. Of course DC tripping over their own feet has helped as well.
2. Feige was made president of Marvel Studios in 2007.
Over a decade ago he was given the chance to show what he could do if he was in a position of control and since then the MCU has been growing in leaps and bounds unlike anything anyone has ever seen. DC has been struggling to keep up but at this point they would need a serious epic to even bother stepping into the ring with Marvel.
1. He tried to get into his desired school five times but was rejected.
Feige was rejected five times by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. He had a great desire to go here since it was the alma mater of his favorite directors such as Ron Howard, George Lucas, and Robert Zemeckis.
He’s about as much of a comic nerd as anyone it seems, which means that he’s the right man to be manning the helm.
