Jordan Vogt-Roberts might not be as well known as a name right now but he’s done enough to be counted as an important person in Hollywood all the same. His contributions have been noticed far and wide and while you might not recognize the guy while he’s walking on the street just talking to him about his accomplishments might widen your eyes in recognition a bit. He’s been responsible for at least one of the biggest blockbusters in recent years that came out, and is still active on the scene as he tries to top his previous works.
Not all directors are so well known but their work is often very impressive.
5. He directed Kong: Skull Island.
This was a big undertaking, no pun intended, as it had to conform at least a little bit to the legend of King Kong and still be modernized enough to show the origin and the realism that was needed in the film. The MonsterVerse has been building ever since Godzilla made a return, and it was only natural that King Kong was going to come back as well since the pair were thrust together in the movies decades ago and are destined to meet again.
4. He has a passion for video games.
He’ll be directing a film based on the popular game Metal Gear and in fact might have already started filming. It helps that he’s into video games since he might be able to bring a bit more of the game into the movie than has been seen with many others over the years. Just like comic books however movies are not always so kind to the games they’re based off of as there’s so much to take in and not enough time to show it all.
3. He was attacked in a bar in Ho Chi Minh City.
There seemed to be no reason for the attack but when he was out with friends Jordan was beaten about the head and smacked with a bottle before the young men that assaulted him ran off. Police didn’t seem to find anyone that knew anything about the young men. Jordan was thankfully okay and able to continue his visit.
2. He was accused of sexual harassment.
An adult film star accused Jordan of sexual harassment after he allegedly kissed her without permission. He was with friend T.J. Miller at the time, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct in the past and is currently in trouble with other legal matters that have been documented. Right now it doesn’t seem like it would be a good time to do anything that would land a person in trouble.
1. He hasn’t done much to date.
Despite his fame Jordan really hasn’t got a lot of films under his belt, though he does have a few that are able to garner him some attention. Chances are that he will keep going forward with his career and this will help him to build a more extensive resume.
It could be he’s just hitting his stride.
