Five Things You Didn’t Know about Caroline Dhavernas

Caroline Dhavernas is the type of actress that simply commands your attention and has been onscreen since the age of 11. Her accomplishments since then have been many and she has managed to dominate on the scene in the US as she’s proven in various shows and movies. Her type of acting is not so over the top that she has to command the spotlight but she does manage to make people turn their heads as she’s played roles that aren’t so forceful that they would take note of her just because she is that good at what she does.

Just watch a few programs with her as one of the stars and you’ll see that is really that good.

5. She learned English at a young age.

It’s a boon to be bilingual in today’s world and as an actor it’s even more important since it can land you more gigs than not and can make a person more valuable to a wider audience. Her parents were a big support in this as they sent her to an English-speaking school but still managed to encourage her to hold onto her culture as a French-Canadian.

4. Her favorite show is Twin Peaks.

You can’t deny that she has good taste, but this was many people’s favorite for a time and still is in fact despite the fact that it’s become forgotten by a lot of people that used to find it entertaining. Still, there’s a lot to be said about a person’s choice in shows that can paint them in a different light as to who they are and what they value. Of course she could just be a regular fan that likes the story.

3. She dubs her own parts in French versions of her TV shows.

Ever notice how the dubbed voices in shows sometimes don’t sound like they match the character? The effort to get someone that sounds like the individuals that are being dubbed is taken most times but isn’t always perfect. However with Caroline that effort is entirely worth it since she can do her own dubbing and make it sound just as professional and on point as it needs to be. That way there’s less confusion as to why one character doesn’t sound right.

2. She trained for 2 months to play the role of Marilyn Bell.

Marilyn Bell was the first to cross the 32-mile span of the Ontario Lake in 1954. Caroline trained with the Pointe-Claire Swim Club for 2 straight months to prepare for the role. This shows a lot of dedication to her craft and a desire to get things as accurate as possible when it comes to a role. That alone makes her an actress worth watching since she obviously takes her work seriously enough to get things that accurate.

1. She and her sister Gabrielle are able to dub each others parts due to the similar timbre in their voices.

This is impressive as well as fortuitous since Gabrielle is an actress that specializes in dubbing. This way they can cover for each other if need be.

She’s seriously one of the more impressive women on the scene right now.
