Adam Wingard is known for his tremendous contributions to the film industry. He is a talented screenwriter, cinematographer, editor and film director. You may remember some of his better horror films which include “Blair Witch,” “The Guest” and “You’re Next.” He has a special way of bringing out the very best performances from the actors that he works with. 1. He started is career as a filmmaker at age 19
Adam got an early start in film and made his directorial debut at the young age of just 19. The movie title is “Home Sick,” in 2007 under the horror/slasher genre. Bill Moseley and Tom Toweles starred in the lead roles. You may not of heard of the film because it didn’t win any awards, but it was a remarkable effort. Still, it was appreciated by horror fans and you can still find it for sale in video stores.
2. His second attempt earned Adam recognition
Wingard created a second film just five years later. At the age of 24, the film “Pop Skull” finally went the direction he had hoped. He worked off a $2,000 budget, which is a tight shoe string, but he made it work. The movie premiered at the Rome Film Festival and went on to the American Film Institute Film Festival. It also caught the attention of the Wild Bunch which is a French Distribution company.

In his case, you can’t take the man out of the south, or the south out of the man.

Usually when we’re watching the popular film awards ceremonies, our focus in upon the actors. We also root for our favorite directors and Adam is certainly in that category, but he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best editing. It seems that Wingard’s talents just have no end.
