Bering Sea Gold is a classic in its own right and has a large fan base that demands another season. For a Friday cable television show, it’s ranked as the third highest of all time. It was shown on the Discovery Channel and is shot in Nome, Alaska. If you’ve watched all of Bering Sea Gold and are looking for something else to watch then it could be pretty difficult. There are hundreds of television shows to choose from, and the chances of you randomly finding one that’s like a show you like are really low. 1. Gold Rush
Gold Rush is a well known reality tv show that can be found on the Discovery Channel. The show starts out with six people who have just lost their jobs. Nobody from the group of six know how to mine gold but they go to Alaska in hopes of hitting the jackpot. The team go to Quartz Creek and find a dig site where they settled down on. In the beginning nobody had any luck, with each person couldn’t even get 50oz each. They go back and forth from the camp site and home to change gear and rest. It currently has ten seasons that have aired on television. After recruiting a few people to help them out, they all mined a total of 803 ounces of gold. That totals out to $1.2 million dollars split amongst the six of them. This show goes through ups and downs as you follow the group and watch them try to strike gold.
2. Jungle Gold
Jungle Gold is an old reality TV show that was shown on the Discovery Channel in October of 2012. It was a short lived series that lasted only two seasons. The show features George Wright and Scott Lomu who are two men who lost all of their money in the real estate crash in 2008. They grab their tools and head out to Africa to see if they are lucky enough to find any gold there. The two of them pick out a place near the Ashanti Belt and start mining away. They used water pumps, trommels, and excavators to get all of their gold in an efficient way. After a couple of failures, they changed their minds and went to a small place near a town called Fahiakobo. In the second season of Jungle Gold, George and Scott had to stop filming due to there being an attack by the militia near them. Their friend Allen Reece was attacked during the escape so they had to take him to a different town for safety. They then learn that they have warrants out for their arrest due to gold mining being illegal where they were at. Watch the show to find out if they escape or not.
3. Deadliest Catch
The Discovery Channel does it again with documentary styled TV show that was made by Original Productions. It was created by Thom Beers in 1999 and is located in Burbank, California. You watch the crew of a few men go through what it’s like to be on a boat fishing for crabs in the Bering Sea. They assign each other the roles of captain and greenhorns, which is what they call people who are new. Once they’ve set out the jobs they have to endure the brutal cold weather while ducking the ship’s mechanics. The recording style is unique in the sense that it’s a video recording of a ship’s crew going through the maneuvers of crab fishing. The video is then taken and a narration is placed on top of it. This unique production has kept the show going and is already at 15 seasons released.
4. Lobster Wars
United Kingdom has dubbed the show “Lobster Wars – Deadliest Catch” while the United States just calls this show Lobster Wars. It was first released in August 23, 2007 and shows one woman with a group of men fishing for lobsters. They start out in the northern coast of America at a place called Georges Bank. Two different people narrate the Lobster Wars TV show, with Bill Petrie doing the voice fort the UK version and Thom Beer doing the narration for the US version. Each person picks out a boat between the choices of The Excalibur, The Rachel Leah, The Direction, The William Bowe, The Timothy Michael, and The Dragon Lady. The trip pushes them to the limits as they all curse and have trouble getting a handle of things. It gets even more heated up when they learn that they have to go against each other. Watch and see which boat crew wins the competition and brings home the money.
5. Treasure Quest – Snake Island
Produced by Mak Pictures, Treasure Quest: Snake Island is a modern reality TV show that can be found on the Discovery Channel. Cork Graham and the famous free diving champion Mehgan Heaney-Grier lead a group of treasure hunters to find the the Treasure of the Trinity, an Incan treasure that is in South America. The series started in 2015 and lasted three seasons all the way to 2018. The crew start all the way in Brazil on a small section of land called Snake Island. They slowly give up and head out all they way to Argentina. They follow clues and go scavenge through the Trinidad Mission remains that happened in in the early 17th century. They are also seen making a deal with someone from the black market for information about the treasure. They were told to go to Santa Ana where the old Jesuit mission took place.
