There are some truly bizarre families in Hollywood these days but you can’t help but think that their strangeness is only equaled at times by other factors that make them spectacles in some ways. A lot of Hollywood families tend to fly under the radar and don’t really capture that much attention as some members of the family are famous and others just want to be left to their own peace and quiet outside of the spotlight. But those that actively try to be in the public eye tend to be scrutinized pretty heavily and in some cases don’t seem to understand why people tend to pick on them now and again. Being strange and out of the ordinary isn’t the problem however, it’s being strange and out of the ordinary in a way that makes people realize just how the family must really be off screen that’s troubling.
Here are some of the strangest families in Hollywood today.
5. The Duggars
Whether you want to cite their faith as the reason they have so many children or not the Duggars have been under the microscope for a long time now with the size of family they’ve had for so long. People will actually pay top dollar to listen to them speak and their story is, for the most part, a long talk about faith, patience, and of course trying to fund their existence. A person can be as faithful as they want to be but this large of a family gets expensive when it comes to doing the mandatory amount to survive. But the Duggars thrive on people that want to watch or witness the spectacle they’ve created. Unfortunately that did manage to bite them pretty hard not that long ago when a charge of sexual misconduct was committed by one of their own sons.
4. The Smiths
It feels like a lot of the strangeness that was brought on in this family had to do with Jaden to start with since once he got old enough he started acting in ways that people couldn’t understand. For the most part though the Smith’s seem like a rather loving and caring family that don’t have a lot of issues other than that people don’t know what they’re doing all the time and Will Smith seems to be getting kind of eccentric as time goes on. One thing you can say about them is that they’ve earned the money they enjoy so much off the back of their famous father, their mother Jada, and of course off of Jaden.
3. The Hogans
It almost feels like Hogan took this show just to find a way to stay relevant. Some people might say of course he did but others might actually argue that it has worth to see how a star lives in their own home, away from the…oh wait, nevermind. It’s really hard to say ‘away from the cameras’ when in truth the cameras are on almost all the time and are recording what’s supposed to be real. The problem however, as it is with most if not all reality TV, is that none of the reactions are completely genuine and the material that’s recorded is rarely ever the way that people really are since the producers love to mess with things.
2. The Gosselins
To be honest having more than three kids is a lot of work and Kate has 8. Now you could feel sorry for her, impressed by her, inspired by her, or anything you want, but the honest truth is that some of us look at this and honestly don’t buy it. Kate has amassed enough money from the show and obviously isn’t hurting for anything if she’s able to feed, clothe, and house her children and give them what they want. Feeling sorry for her isn’t a great option since it would involve pity and to be honest these kids have more than a lot of kids their own age. If anything’s strange it’s that she hasn’t even bothered to try and meet someone that would be brave enough to take on her family.

It’s hard to know whether to believe that the Kardashian/Jenner clan is really playing dumb for the camera or if they’re actually just the way they seem. If the latter is accurate then one’s IQ can actually seem to lower upon watching the show since a lot of what they say tends to make no sense and yet people will continue to watch it without fail. The entire show is a tribute to how vapid a lot of them can be and how accommodating the rest of them can be. The strangeness here is that the show is still pulling any sort of ratings when it’s become little more than a testament to their lives that really isn’t needed.
