Almost every movie has those scenes that just stick out like sore thumbs and don’t seem to mesh with the rest of the film. It’s kind of hard to think about why the film maker left the scenes in or came up with them in the first place but you get the idea that they had a definite plan in mind but somehow executed it so differently in real life that things just kind of got messed up without any real intention. In any case these scenes just don’t seem to flow with the rest of the movie, and even if they do in some weird way they’re so obviously out of place that you have to think really hard on why the director left them the way they are.
Oh yes, Transformers is on here and that movie has a couple of scenes that fit this description.
5. Transformers-Any Optimus Prime Speech
If it’s at the end of the movie, as it usually is, then Optimus Prime’s speeches have a point to them. They’re a little long-winded and tend to take a while to finish but they at least carry a pretty clear message. In the middle of the battle in The Last Knight however Optimus decides to inspire his fellow Autobots with a rousing declaration followed by instructions on what to do. It just seems like the wrong time for a speech.
4. Conan the Barbarian-Deleted Scene
There’s probably a couple of good reasons why this scene was deleted. One is that it could have cut into the final running time a little too much, and two is that it could have chipped away at the idea of who Conan was in the eyes of the audience. We already knew that he was a deadly warrior that rarely, if ever, took prisoners, but painting him as a nostalgic young man didn’t really fit with everything that had come throughout the movie at that point.
3. Get Out- The deer scene
There have been theories about why this scene was so necessary, but most of them still don’t make that much sense considering that it doesn’t really factor into the movie past this moment. In fact people might even forget about it the second that the two leads make it to her parents’ house. The deer scene just kind of gets lost in the mix no matter that it was supposed to be there.
2. Suicide Squad-Slipknot’s death
The mere fact that this was written in is kind of confusing. Slipknot seems like he could have at least been another body to depend on in the coming battle with the Enchantress. He had a bad attitude obviously but he’s been around the comics a lot longer than he was in the movie. Plus, Adam Beach is a good enough actor that he shouldn’t have been made to bite it that quickly.
1. A Christmas Story-Little orphan Annie
It feels a little dicey to talk about this movie since Christmas is around the corner and it’s such a classic, but the orphan Annie scene just doesn’t feel like it fit that well. Sure, it’s another day in the life of Ralphie and the things that he really cherishes, but on the whole it doesn’t seem like it really speaks to the whole idea of Christmas that’s in his head for the entire movie.
At the moment these scenes are being shot you really have to wonder why, and what the director is thinking about.
