Hayley Atwell has proven her worth to the MCU from her stint in Captain America: The First Avenger, so it’s only acceptable that she be kept in the MCU in one way or another. After all look at Chris Evans, he was given a try as the Human Torch to start with and then moved onto his most iconic role ever. And as far as sticking with superhero movies Atwell has shown that she can pull her weight with one of the most legendary among them so making her into one of them might be the only logical next step. After all the rest of them had to earn their spot, and she’d done it before a lot of the movies started coming out.
It’s her turn now.
5. She-Hulk
Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, hasn’t had a chance to make her impact in the MCU as of yet and it’s a shame since she’s a fun character that deserves the shot. She might also give a much closer look into the parts of Bruce Banner’s life that we haven’t seen or heard of since she is his cousin after all. Perhaps she could explain why Bruce has always been such an angry person since the most recent movies don’t do that great of a job.
4. Spider-Woman
Jessica Drew had kind of a complicated life. She would eventually become an Avenger after being a mercenary and having escaped her Hydra handlers, but her back story is kind of complex and could easily take an entire movie to explain. But as a woman that’s already taken on a character that has to deal with a lot of complicated back story Atwell could certainly breathe some life into this movie.
3. Silver Sable
As you might have guessed a lot of these characters have tie-ins to major or at least important characters in the Marvel universe. Silver Sable could lead to Dr. Doom and possible another Fantastic Four, or an Avengers tie-in and she’s also got the advantage of being a strong and very willful person that runs things her way. That’s why Atwell would be perfect to take on the role. She might even be able to have a Spider-Man tie-in.
2. Black Cat
The Black Cat would definitely be connected to Spider-Man since she’s been in love/hate relationship with him for quite some time. The dynamic between the two has been kind of difficult to really pin down since she’s been friendly towards him and then spiteful since he turned her away and married Mary Jane Watson. If there was ever a woman that could exemplify being spurned and doing something about it though it would be Atwell. Look how good a job she did when she played Peggy Carter. Thank goodness for vibranium.
1. Mockingbird
This one might be tricky since in the movies Hawkeye is already married and has a family, and Mockingbird was, in the comics, his wife and fellow teammate. But given how ripped up and put back together the MCU has become it might be possible to turn Atwell blonde and put her into the mix once again. It’d be an interesting turn of events really.
There are a LOT of characters that Atwell could play perfectly, these are just a few.
